Does it add anything to compare this man to Hitler yimach shemo ve zichrono?
we should let him speak and go to ground zero and let some nut shoot him
yes, it does, mr.canadian guy ,we should not be silent!!( except in shul tomorrow when we are not dovening ) gmar chasima tova!!
there are so many Jewish graduates of Columbia – including a ton of modern Orthodox people.
are they protesting? are they saying they will not donate money to the unversity? have any Jewish donors stopped giving?
I have heard nothing until this story.
Imagine if this guy was anti black or Asian. do you think blacks Asians would continue to give money to Columbis??
Wake up Jews who are Columbia grads…..we aren’t hearing you.
Canadian guy, You are being canadian.Be American.
I don’t think it’s a simple question of whether to antagonize this Rasha. I don’t believe it was ever the derech of the Torah to directly confront the evil rulers and to incite them. Especially since there are still Jews in Iran, it would seem to be better to work behind the scenes.

This is not only a jewish issue, this Iranian PM is a world-class terrorist, all alumni, students, and others should be blasting Columbia University via phone, fax and email and let them know the opinion of the citizens of a free country who want this ‘evil dictator’ out of USA permanently.
I have no problem if others do it and in fact I support it. It’s when it becomes a Jewish issue that I am concerned.
As admirable as this gesture is, the whole idea of her ‘disposing’ of thediploma is meaningless ! The fact is that she has the skills and talents required by the institution to acquire this status.
‘Tearing it up’ for politics doesnt change a thing!
Shmuel99: I stopped giving to my Alma Mater a few decades ago. I did send an e-mail to the VP of fund raising and the Chairman of the School of International Affairs (the sponsor of the visit by Achmadinnerjacket). I got a vanilla response by the former, including the press release by the University president, which was even more vanilla.
I did tell them I was ashamed to be an alumni, but I agree with Nameless, and don’t intend on returning, or tearing up my Columbia diplomas (I have 4).
Columbia Hillel is planning a major protest.
Sammygol,
As usual on the money.
