Newsday’s Blog Writes: Imagine readers’ surprise when Nassau Comptroller Howard Weitzman greeted them through an ad in the weekly Herald newspapers on Sept. 6 that said: “Warmest Wishes for a Happy Passover.”
Apparently Weitzman was equally surprised.
So last week’s Herald ran the following correction:
“Instead of a Jewish New Year greeting from Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman, the Herald mistakenly printed a Passover greeting instead. Weitzman knows his religious observances well, and wishes Herald readers a sweet and holy Rosh Hashana. We regret the error.”
