Eric Rodriquez, Commanding Officer of the NYPD’s 70 Precinct, tells YWN teh following:
Please be advise that Hurricane Irene will be reaching the New York City area Saturday evening through Sunday evening. As always the 70th precinct Officers will be in full force, but I want the community to be prepared. This Hurricane has serious potential to cause hazardous conditions in the area. Please plan a head; stack up on groceries, water and any necessities needed for your family. If possible; don’t drive during the hurricane. Be prepared for power outage (have flash lights with good batteries, back-up plans for medical machinery), expect transportation interruptions & major flooding in the area. Only utilize 911 for extreme emergencies and 311 for non-emergencies. Please stay tuned to your local news to stay informed. Thank you.
