Mrs. Nechama Dina Krinsky is a Yiddishe Mame, a Jewish Mother, in the truest sense of the word, a mother of eleven children and three foster children, but, in truth, she is the mother of an entire community.
Mrs. Krinsky and her husband Rabbi Sholom Ber Krinsky have been serving as shluchim to the Lithuanian capital of Vilna for the past 28 years. During that time, they have worked tirelessly to provide for the spiritual and material needs of a community decimated by the Holocaust and ensuing Soviet repression.
“I have met many Jewish people from different walks of life and seen different Jewish organizations,” says Vilna resident Miriam Danisov, “but never have I ever met such dedicated people like Rabbi and Mrs. Krinsky, who have dedicated all their lives for one purpose only – to revive Jewish life in Lithuania.
“They became founders and leaders of the Jewish community in every way for nearly 30 years, both physically and spiritually. They’ve helped me a lot and funded my tuition and living costs so I could reconnect with my Jewish roots.”
Now, however, the life-changing work of the Krinskys is facing a serious threat – and Mrs. Krinsky’s very freedom is imperiled. The prejudiced, corrupt Lithuanian justice system has brought trumped-up charges against Mrs. Krinsky related to the school’s financial standing. Despite clear evidence that she and her husband are innocent of the alleged wrongdoing, the judge continues to pursue the case. If Mrs. Krinsky is, chas veshalom, found guilty, she could face imprisonment.

The reality is more complicated than what is written above. Those that are interested should do their own research without relying solely on Lubavitch sources. There is a conflict between Chabad Lubavitch and the regular Jewish community there, as in many places around the world.
Is R’ Sholom Ber related to R’ Yehuda Krinsky who was one of the senior Gabboim to the Rebbe? Hopefully, the matter will be quickly resolved.

This is Heartbreaking. Nechama Dina was my classmate. She is the kindest person I know. In addition to her 11 children she officially fostered 3 more, and countless others. When Jews are antisemites, we all suffer,, and this is a perfect case of a terrible travesty being done to people who live to help others. I heard about the terrible suffering this poor shialach had been put through ten years ago from his dad. No doubt they are trumped-up charges. His father is very pained and these lies are known to people who know this person or the family.
The whole story, as mentioned by Lemayseh, is unfortunately not pretty, and it seems that a fight about reparations money is what all of this stems from (the reason the school ended up bankrupt is because they were expecting some of that money, which they needed to pay their payroll tax bills, and when the not-religious Good Will Fund refused to give them any of the cash, claiming they can’t give money just for them to solve their tax problems, they defaulted and folded). But that is neither here nor there. L’maaseh, there is a righteous woman in trouble with a cruel non-Jew-loving non-democratic government, and she needs our tefillos.

if they are not in Israel what can I say….all the children kindness is all from Hashem…sorry, let them come home to Israel, all that is theirs….then the funds that are set up will clearly go direct to them…sorry….living in a world filled with hate and nazi’s …..I came to Israel to rescue my family, let them and others do the same..
“Lemayseh”, the so-called “regular Jewish community” is not a Jewish community in any meaningful way. They are mechalelei shabbos and eat treif, and exist as a so-called “Jewish community” only to get money that is supposed to go to strengthen actual yiddishkeit.
I hope chabad did not abandon them as soon as they became a liability, they tend to do release statements distancing themselves from shluchim accused of wrongdoing, many times their right but if they did in this case they are a bunch of imbeciles
