Are they damaged beyond repair?
It’s a sign.
Swings: Sign of what?? After 3 or 4 days of non-stop weather forecasts across all the media in the NYC metro area predicting heavy rains and flooding, why did they not move these sifrei torah from an aron in a below-grade basement area being used as a shul? Kol hakovod to the Hatzalah members who went into the flooded area. I’m not a sofer but the damage for at least some of the scrolls looks extensive and beyond repair.
