3. @NU.NU They are indeed taking responsibility. Children are being driven/flown home from Yeshivot and Seminaries around the world because currently that is the medical advice given.

7. @ IHateCommunism I wish more precautions had been taken for Swine Flu. My father died from it, and he had been in good health until then. Because of Swine Flu my children grew up without a Zeidy. Please everyone take this seriously!

   While swine flu was more lethal, corona is by far much more contagious.
   From all cases so far, all people that have contacted anyone were positive…

   Which means – once it starts, it will effect millions if no precautions are done.
   Which means – overloading the Healthcare system..

10. Update for YWN (I don’t do whatsapp): All the libraries in NYC are closed to the public starting tomorrow; NYPL and BPL at least through the end of the month and QPL until further notice. Patrons are asked to keep borrowed books at home as of now (to avoid overloading the machines)–due dates will be extended and late fees suspended. More ebooks and audiobooks are being purchased.

    Other than simply increasing traffic and comments to their site (and, presumably, concomitantly increasing advertising revenue), that is. (At the expense of magnifying chillul H’; inciting/inflaming/increasing eivah. But, hey, business is business, I suppose.)

Regarding the new video posted, the “anti-semitism” displayed: Very frustrating for me to watch as a community mocks the social distancing, currently has a large outbreak, and then complains that it is anti-semitism why goyim are mad at them. when will Jewish people get it in their head to be HUMBLE!? They act so disgusting all the time, yet when it blows up in their face it they never see how they caused it. ITS NOT ANTI-SEMITISM. I know no one will agree I just need to voice this. the arrogance and thick-headedness is overwhelming to me. Chillul hashem and makes other people think that this is what the Torah teaches!? Get a life.

17. I certainly agree that the minyanim should stop, however it is a gross inaccuracy to call them “mass murder”. That is fueling hate and hysteria, it is “fake news”. Classifying it as such, detracts from the role of G-d in the matter and overemphasizes the very passive role the attendees may play in spreading the virus which may be harmful to the person who contracts it.

18. For goodness sake can we please change the narrative here?!?!?!? Yes, we all agree that davening with a minyan in times like these is wrong. However we also all agree that Hashem is sending us a message with this whole pandemic. Do you really think the message he’s sending is “when there is a pandemic don’t daven with a minyan”? No!!! there are many other messages he is trying to send us. As long as we look at each death as proof that minyan is wrong, and not as a sign that we need to change, this will never end. Let’s stop reacting this way to each death, let’s start actually using it as a message to better ourselves.

19. Based on the information that it’s still the begining of the virus, I would suggest to anyone that’s not young and healthy to consider the following. If you were to stay here versus going to your upstate cottage now , the chance different that you will you be living by the time the summer comes around. Let’s think about some of our ancestors that escaped Poland right before the Holocaust even though it wasn’t the common thing. It’s obviously not the same but something to think about it.

20. Please be aware, for those taking Hydroxychloroquin and zinc. Yes you should take both! But not at the same time! Very important! Hydroxychloroquin should not be taken with Antacids or magnesium or any minerals that it might bind with. The zinc as well should be taken 4 hours after the hydroxychloroquin.
    Please take the hydroxychloroquin at least 4 hours away from zinc or other mineral supplements.

21. Look at the tone of this article. It is highly dismissive. Anyone who says that vitamin C will cure corona, cure cancer, split the Red Sea, and build the Third Temple, is not being responsible. But the article admits that Vitamin C does boost the immune system. I’ll take that. Vitamin E also boosts the immune system and helps the body recycle Vitamin C. Sounds good to me. I like the sunlight and it is now known for 15 or so years that appropriate Vitamin D blood levels also support the immune system plus many other aspects of our health besides bone building. Especially locked indoors our D levels are dropping. Not mentioned in this article there is also zinc, astragalus, elderberry, etc. Also not mentioned in this article is that it is known that white sugar lowers the immune system. If these things will “only” boost our immune system then that might make the difference between being at home sick for a few days or week as opposed to being in an ICU, chas v’shalom. Am I suggesting a change in life style? I think we are experiencing a change in life style already. So why not throw in a few vitamins and build our internal defenses?
