Two rockets were fired by terrorists in Gaza at Israel on Friday night. The rockets caused red alert sirens to wail in Israeli towns in the Gaza periphery. However, the rockets fell inside the Gaza Strip itself.

Israelis in the greater Jerusalem area and the central region of the coast were surprised by early rains on Shabbos afternoon. Other areas that received the welcome rain included the Judean desert, Ashkelon, Netivot, and areas of the coast as far north as Herzliya.

Some 2,500 people protested the legal proceedings against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Kikar Goren, a large square in Petach Tikvah near the home of Avichai Mandelblit, the Attorney General. The protesters chanted slogan stating that “Netanyahu will never stand alone.”

Netanyahu decided on Friday to not hold primaries for the Likud party leadership after he accepted the proposal by the head of the central committee of the Likud MK Chaim Katz who proposed that the central committee ratify that Netanyahu is the only candidate for leadership of the party in the current Knesset. The central committee is expected to convene on Thursday to issue the statement.

Channel 12 reported that the Attorney General’s office was surprised by the material presented by Netanyahu’s attorneys during the hearing which took place  this week. According to the report the Attorney General’s staff will have to re-evaluate the material against Netanyahu in light of the new evidence.

An improvised explosive device exploded near an IDF position near Beit Umar located close to Hevron. There were no injuries reported but there was damage caused. The IDF arrested one suspect after they found an additional device near the same position. While the IDF was searching for other suspects who may have been involved, Arabs from the area rioted and threw stones at soldiers, causing one to be lightly injured.

A 23-year-old Israel woman was arrested and later released from police detention in Sinai after she was found to be carrying bullet casings in her guitar case. She was bought before a judge in Nuweiba prior to her release.

The Sidna Ali Beach in Herzliya was closed to the public after a large yellow substance was spotted. The area was cleared due to possible contamination.

A 29-year-old man was in serious condition after being shot on Hagiborim Street in Haifa. A suspect was apprehended in the incident which police are saying was criminal in nature.

The Regional Council of Samaria is holding a massive blood drive tomorrow in conjunction with the IDF and Magen David Adom. The council has undertaken the task of making this the most donated blood ever collected in one day. Currently, the record for the most blood donations collected in Israel was set by the city of Tel Aviv during Operation Protective Edge in 2014 when some 700 pints of blood were collected in one day. Over the course of the blood drive, the council and its partners will be setting up and staffing 67 beds on which people will be able to donate simultaneously. The blood drive will last for 12 hours on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
