Daggett Says N.J. Gov Election Is In ‘Hands Of The Independent’

Just after 9 a.m. independent candidate Chris Daggett showed up at Fellowship Village to cast his vote.

After taking a few minutes to fill out his ballot a poll worker said, “he can’t find his name!”

When Daggett emerged he responded, “I found my name. I practiced on the sample ballot.”

Daggett, flanked by his wife Bea and daughters Alexandra and Justine, said his family played an integral role in the campaign.

“They’ve been a total part of the campaign,” he said. “My wife has been an unbelievable supporter and unbelievable producer in this campaign.”

Dagget avoided taking shots at his opponents but excoriated the two-party system that he says has led to many of New Jersey’s problems.

“I think now the voting is in the hands of the independents,” he said citing the frustration that many voters feel about the lack of options on the ballot. “This election is going to be a surprise tonight, and it’s going to be way more than 12 percent.”
