State Police from SP Liberty investigated a fatal motor vehicle, bicycle accident that occurred yesterday on DeBruce Rd in the Town of Rockland in which an eighteen year old man from NYC was killed.
The initial investigation at the scene determined that a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, towing a camper trailer, was traveling on DeBruce Rd following behind two bicyclists, all heading in a west bound direction. The Grand Cherokee attempted to pass the two bicyclists on the left in the area of Old CR-82A. The bicycle operator, identified as Tristan Serrano, 18, of New York City, was transported to Catskill Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
No tickets were issued to the driver of the Grand Cherokee. The exact cause of the accident is pending further investigation at this time.
