The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Danielle Brown, 37, of Cuddebackville for Arson in the 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, both Felonies. The charges stem from a house fire that occured on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 6 Schaeffer Lane in the Town of Forestburgh. Firefighters were called to that residence at about 4:00 PM for a fully involved fire on the second floor.

“An investigation by Sheriff’s Deputies and Fire Investigators from the Sullivan County Bureau of Fire led directly to Brown”, said Sheriff Mike Schiff. It is believed that Brown, who was staying with relatives at that location, started the fire on a matress in an upstairs bedroom. Ther were no reported injuries but the entire home was gutted and a family cat perished.

Danielle Brown appeared in court Monday night (6/30/14) before Town of Forestburgh Judge Maryjean Carroll and was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.
