President Obama’s trip to central and western New York is expected to cause some traffic tie-ups on the Thruway.
The state Thruway Authority says drivers should be prepared for temporary road closures and slow or stopped traffic on the Thruway Thursday and Friday.
The agency says drivers may not be allowed to enter the highway at some interchanges at certain times, or may be unable to re-enter the highway from service plazas and rest areas. Details of timing haven’t been released.
Obama is making a bus tour through upstate New York and Pennsylvania to lay out ideas for making college more affordable. He’ll be at the University at Buffalo and Henninger High School in Syracuse on Thursday. On Friday, he’ll participate in a town hall event at Binghamton University.
