Many parents visiting camps on “Visiting Day”, do not have summer homes or rent bungalows in the Catskills. They simply travel upstate from the city for the day to visit their children or grandchildren in camps. Many of the parents do not leave the camp grounds for the day, and many camps provide the families with a lunch.
At Camp Tashbar in Liberty, a buffet lunch was served – but provided an extra treat for all the children travelling for the day: A two-elephant show was performed twice during the day.
What a nice thing for a camp to do!
