Spirit Airlines has announced that, come November 6, it could cost travelers as much as $100 to have a carry-on bag on one of their flights.
Currently, the airline charges $30 for carry-on bags, if paid prior to check-in. Come November, that price will go up to $35. However, the price gets jacked up to $100 for any carry-on bag purchased at the gate. The airline initially started charging for carry-ons in August 2010.
The Associated Press reports that the airline will also levy other fees between $2 and $10 come November.
In April, Allegiant Airlines caught flack for charging passengers $35 for carry-on luggage. At the time, spokesman Jessica Wheeler said that passengers could also “check in” their carry-on prior to heading to the airport in order to save an undisclosed (or perhaps as-yet-to-be-determined) amount.

Spirit Airlines is not a very nice airline. Their personnel are HORRIBLE! Not nice, rude and can’t speak English very well. And on top of that, they charge you for everything. And they are (almost)never on time! I think it’s time for them to go out of business. “Mean Spirit”ed is a very good description!
