New regulations going into effect today are expected to help ensure that consumers are treated fairly when they travel by air.
Among the new provisions are requirements that airlines and ticket agents include all mandatory taxes and fees in published airfares and that they disclose baggage fees to consumers buying tickets.
Also beginning today, passengers will be able to hold a reservation without payment, or cancel a booking without penalty, for 24 hours after the reservation is made, if they make the reservation one week or more prior to a flight’s departure date.
Airlines will also be required to promptly notify passengers of flight delays of over 30 minutes, as well as flight cancellations and diversions.

It’s really much easier to take a train.
It would be nice if there was a frum ocean liner going to Eretz Yisrael at a reasonable cost (room for kids to run around, space to lie down – maybe decent food and a shul on board)
i saw on a spirit airlines official web site, that this ‘wonderful’ regulation, also requires the airline to HIDE the tax from the consumer. (they must include it in the price, and the gov’t can hide their taxes)
The reason Spirit is against this is that when all the fees are included, it becomes obvious that they’re really not so cheap.
Spirit is spinning the truth. There is no requirement that they hide the taxes; they are allowed to reveal how much of the price is air fare and how much is taxes, but they have to give the total as well.
