I remember her from the store as a wonderfully kind and helpful person; Always respectful of her Talmid Chochom husband who also worked in the store with an ever-open sefer.
Correction: Mrs Frankel owned Frankels along with her husband until about 35 years ago when Rabbi Kasnett bought it, she did continue working there for years and was a fixture in that store for a long time, a real Tzadeikus and very special person!
BDE
how was she related to R Yankel Leiner, the last Rebbe, who was niftar approximately 2 years ago?
thx
She is also survived by her sister Mrs.Toby Fleisher of Boro Park / Lakewood.
For #2, she owned Frankel’s after her husbands petira for several years until around 25 years ago not 35.
For #3 She was the aunt of R’ Yankel Leiner, his father R’Mordechai Yosef older sister.
#4, I personally know the former owner (Frankels closed abt 2 yrs ago) and it is closer to 30 years. You’re right though she did own it for a few years after her husband was Niftar.
