Levaya of Rav Lipa Solomon ZATZAL; Talmid Of The Chofetz Chaim

Lakewood, NJ – YWN regrets to inform you of the Petirah of Rav Lipa Solomon ZATZAL, one of the last remaining Talmidim of the Chofetz Chaim.

Rav Solomon, who was 96 years old when he was Niftar on Wednesday afternoon, lived in the Westgate Community of Lakewood for the past 10 years. Prior to his move to Lakewood, he served as a Rov in Boston for close to 50 years.

Rav Solomon was one of the last few people alive to recall hearing Shiurim from the Chofetz Chaim ZATZAL – and constantly repeated his words.

The Levaya is scheduled for Thursday morning at 9:30AM at the West Gate Shul located at 2 North Crest.

  1. oly yesterday (wednesday) Rabbi Yerachmiel Cofnas of Mnachester, who was nifter almost a month ago was reburied in Har Hamenuchos, and now another talmid has been called to Shomayim.
the Chofetz Chaim must be giving a shiur klali up in Shomayim and is calling his talmidim once again to come hear him.
BUT, what a tremendous loss for us to lose our last links to the past generation of Gedolim. what a zechus they had to have heard Shiurim from the Chofetz Chaim and what a loss to us that they are not with us anymore.

may the Geula Shleima come fast so that we can all merit seeing Techias Hamesim and binyan beis hamikdosh and then we will all be able, once again, to listen to Shiurim from the Chofetz Chaim.

  2. I had the tremendous zchus of being invited to his house for shabbos seudos. At his Purim Seuda, he would tell over ma’aselach from the Chofetz Chaim that he personally witnessed. How many are there today that can say that? The neshoma zol hobn an aliya, the family should have a nechama, and IY”H we should bekarov be zocheh to biyas hamoshiach and tchiyas hameisim, when we can again have shaychus both with Rav Solomon and with the Chofetz Chaim.
