Tragedy struck Lakewood early Monday morning as the word spread of the Petira of R’ Yitzchok Meir Weisberger Z”L, who was Niftar from injuries sustained when he was struck by a vehicle on Sunday night in Lakewood. He was approximately 65 years old.
R’ Yitzchok was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of County Line Road and Squankum Road just after 10:00PM, TLS is reporting.
Lakewood Hatzolah was on the scene in seconds, and found him with critical injuries. He was rushed to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Sadly, he was Niftar early Monday morning.
Reb Yiztchok Meir Z”L was a very well-liked Mispallel at Rav Paskesz’s Bais Eimelech Shul on East End Avenue, and resided on Park Avenue.

BDE. So tragic. I don’t know what happened and who’s fault it is, but it would be very beneficial to focus three important things in this town. 1. more and better lighting on dark streets. 2. pedestrians should wear reflectors at night. 3. drivers should drive more carefully and less aggressively.
It’s a crazy intersection very busy.
Too many commercial properties and buildings.
Time for our PLANNING BOARD to crack down!
