YWN regrets to inform you of the Levaya of Rav Shimon Cohen ZT’L.
Rabbi Cohen was the beloved Rov of the youth minyan at Cong. Beth Torah, and a Rebbi at Magen David Yeshiva for over 50 years.
Rabbi Cohen was a close talmid and a member of the Board of Directors of the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn for over 50 years.
The Levaya is today, Thursday March 3 at 1:00PM at Congregation Beth Torah 1061 Ocean Parkway between Avenues J & K. May we only share in Simchos.

Baruch Dayan Emes! He was a true tzaddik. He was a אוהב ישראל in every sense of the word- which is probably the reason that he was highly respected amongst the so-called “white hat” and “black hat” people alike. His warmth is felt by every child who past through his classroom or minyan- even though many of them are already in their 40s and 50s today. Who can replace him? A huge loss….
Reb Shimon was just amazing and exceptional to all young and old, Ashekenaz or Sephard, Mirrer Yeshiva or Magen David

And for those who didn’t it was a Loss not to have known him
I owe him so much. His Youth Minyan at Beth Torah grounded me during my turbulent teenage years and helped me become who I am today. Yehi Zichro Baruch.
