Baruch Dayan HaEmmes: The Grodna Rosh Yeshiva, HaGaon HaRav Dov Tzvi Karelenstein ZT”L, 81, was niftar a short time ago, Wednesday, 29 Cheshvan. He was 81-years-old.
The rosh yeshiva was hospitalized as his condition deteriorated of late, and was Niftar in Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
The Levaya will be held at the Grodna Yeshiva in Ashdod, and proceed to Har HaMenuchos in Yerushalayim.

I am wondering why the rosh yeshiva would ask that people not be maspid him. Any thoughts? Hespeidim can be very inspiring, especially when hearing stories about great people and thinking about how we can improve. Was the point to avoid bitul Torah of the bnei hayeshiva? Is there some issue of modesty?
The reason is because very often there is exaggeration in hespedim. The seforim teach us that exaggeration is very detrimental to the nifter since the nifter is in the process of going through din. He is the olam Haemes where nothing but the absolute truth is tolerated and any exaggeration can cause the din to be harsher chas vesholom.
