YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Hagon HaRav Yehoshua Schiff ZATZAL, the longtime Rosh HaYeshiva of Yeshiva Bais Shraga in Monsey. He was 90 years old.
Rav Schiff was a son-in-law of Hagon HaRav Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz who was a leader of American Orthodoxy and founder of key institutions such as Yeshiva Torah Vodaath.
The Levaya has been scheduled tentatively for 1:00PM Friday afternoon at the Yeshiva on Saddle River Road. The Niftar is scheduled to be taken to Eretz Yisroel on Motzei Shabbos for Kevura.

Rav Shrage Feivel ztl did many great things in his lifetime including his work of strengthening Torah Vodaas but he didn’t found it. (I believe that was R’ Binyomin Wilhelm ztl but I’m not certain)
He did not found the elementary school but he did found the high school. Or maybe it was the bais medresh program. Or both.
