HaGaon HaRav Eliyahu Zalmanovich ZT”L was niftar in Laniado Hospital on Monday 2 Kislev at the age of 68. He was a son of the former Chief Rabbi of Akko Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh ZT”L, known as the elder in the Sanz Chassidic court.

He was married to a daughter of the Rebi Baruch of Gerlitz and lived in Shikun 5 in Bnei Brak, where he served as a rosh kollel for a Sanzer kollel of avreichim.

He took ill a number of months ago and on Monday, his condition took a sharp turn for the worse. He was niftar during the morning hours.

The levaya began at 12:15 from the hospital via the Gerlitz Beis Medrash at 5 Gerlitz Street in Bnei Brak and then to the Segulah Beis Chaim in Petach Tikvah for kvura.
