We regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Naftali Trop (the son of Reb Avraham Ztl. and the grandson Of the GRANAT) of Chicago Illinois, father of Reb Dov Ber Trop of Lakewood, Rabbi Yaakov Trop of Kew Gardens,  Dovid Trop of Kew Gardens Hills, and Esther Gopin of Toronto. He was also the brother of Rebbetzin Zlata Portnoy and Rebbetzin Chana Goldstone.

The Levaya took place in Chicago, on Motzei Shabbos at 8:30 pm at the Adas Shul in Peterson Park.

On Sunday, The aron was brought to New York and there was a second levaya at El Al Cargo in JFK Airport  before the aron was taken to Eretz Yisroel.

There was another levaya in Eretz Yisroel on Monday morning at Har Hazeisim.

Shiva begins after Yom Tov and continues until Tuesday morning, October 28th.  Rebbetzin Goldstone and Rebbetzin Portnoy will sit the entire week at the home of Rabbi Naftali Portnoy, 122-05 Metropolitan Avenue in Kew Gardens, 718-849-9847.  Mrs. Rosalie Trop and her daughter will be sitting at her home in Chicago, 6222 N. Drake Avenue, Petersen Park, 773-588-8626.  The Trop sons will be returning from Eretz Yisrael early on Thursday morning Isru Chag.  The ONLY TIME they will be in the New York area will be Thursday morning until about 2pm, during which time they will be sitting shiva with their aunts at 122-05 Metropolitan Avenue.
