YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Reb Yisroel Meyer Z”L, a resident of Boro Park since WWII. Among his Choshuva children and sons-in-laws that Reb Yisroel leaves behind, is the founder of the Misaskim Organization, R’ Yanky (Jack) Meyer, who is known for his Askanus for the past few decades.
Some of his other children include: R’ Yossi (Lakewood), R’ Shlomo (Lakewood), R’ Avraham(Lakewood) and R’ Luzer (Bensonhurst).
The Levaya will take place today (Thursday) at 1:30PM, outside his home located at 1558 52nd Street. The Levaya will briefly pass by the Novardek Yeshiva located at 1425 49th Street, and the Kevura will be in Woodbridge, NJ, at the Veiner Bais Hakvaros.

Reb Yisroel z.l. was a real and exemplary Torah-digge Baal Habayis, whose Yashrus was striking. He spent every spare moment learning and was osek bemassa ubemattan with utmost honesty. He would not undertake anything without asking a shaaleh. His choshuve wife shetichyeh stood by him in everything he did with great Yiras Shomayim. May his family be zocheh to a great nechomoh.
