YWN regrets to inform you of the tragic Petira of Yitzchok David Schwartz Z”L (60), a resident of Queens, NY, who was who was struck on the shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike northbound express lanes Tuesday afternoon.

Sources tell YWN that the victim was standing next to a vehicle that had been pulled over to the shoulder but police said they did not know why it was there. The tractor-trailer was from Indiana.

The accident, which occurred at 1:14PM, shut down all of the northbound express lanes and ramps leading from Route 80 to the Turnpike.

The New Jersey State Police are on the scene conducting an investigation.
