Another tragic fatal story in Eretz Yisrael, this time striking the Lapid family of Hebron for the fourth time R”L.
The first tragedy to hit the veteran Hebron community family was on erev Yom Kippur in 1987, when their young son Yehoram was found drowned in the mikve. The second and third blow came in תשנ”ד, 1993, when terrorists opened fire at the family vehicle in the Givat Harsina area of the city, killing the father, 56-year-old Mordechai HY”D and a son, Shalom HY”D. Mrs. Miriam Lapid was left with 13 children.
The fourth blow came on erev Shabbos 2 Rosh Chodesh Adar 1 5774 when the body of 27-year-old Moshe Dagan was identified as the man who drowned in a Givat Dagan well in Efrat. MDA paramedic Issa Diwat said “when we arrived we saw a small water pool, with a 27-year-old male was lying next to the pool after being pulled out by a passerby. He was in cardiac arrest and advanced life support resuscitation was initiated, but without success.
Police do not believe the death is the result of any suspicious activities. The levaya began on Sunday, 2 Adar 1 5774 at 15:00 in the community of Yavniel in the northern Israel. יהי זכרו ברוך.

Hodu l’Hashem ki tov, ki l’olam chasdo! Clearly, someone did Teshuva and mitigated these decrees. These events could have had much worse outcomes.
