YWN regrets to inform you of the Ptira of Harav Hachossid Reb Meir Eliezer b”r Nissen Pilchick z”l. Reb Meir was one of the pillars of the Stoliner community worldwide.
Born in 1931 to his parents Reb Nissen and Mrs. Fruma Pilchick, he learned in Yeshiva Tomchai Temimim and later was from the first 5 bachrim to join the new Stoliner Yeshiva, established by the Stoliner Rebbe Reb Yochanan Perlow zy”a.
Reb Meir married Mrs. Henya Schechter and together they built a family in the Derech yisroel sava. Reb Meir was the longtime Menahel of the Stoliner Yeshiva in Borough Park, as well as the Stoliner Mosdos in Eretz Yisroel, alongside his twin brother, Reb Yisroel Pilchick z”l.
With legendary hachnasas orchim, Reb Meir’s home was always open to guests from Eretz Yisroel. His ahavas yisroel knew no bounds, it is not an exaggeration to say that he literally gave his life away for a fellow yid.
After a lengthy illness, Reb Meir’s neshama departed this world while surrounded by family and close ones, this morning in Maimonides Medical Center. The levaya will be at the Stoliner Yeshiva, 1818 54th Street in Brooklyn at 1:30 p.m. and will pass the Stoliner Shul on 4609 16th Ave on it’s way to Eretz Yisroel. The aron will be at JFK Airport, Cargo Air building 23 around 4 p.m. Kevurah will be in Tveria.
Reb Meir is survived by his children, R’ Yochanan, R’ Efraim Aaron, R’ Tovia, and the Bald, Wolpin, Binik and Moshel families, as well as hundreds of talmidim.
May he be a meilitz yosher for klal yisroel and continue his work for fellow yidden with his signature chassidisher bren near the kisei hakavod, and hasten the Geulah Shleima bimheira biyameinu.

There is so much to write about this great tzaddik, he lived for the Hashem and hashem’s children.
He gave away his life and belongings (house) to others. He actually took everything with him, because all his gashmius turned into ruchnius.
One anecdote
When his twin brother reb yisroel was nifter about 10 years ago, reb Meyer who was so close to him, they built TORAH in America together, they did everything together, when it came t to depart,
what do you think his final words were???
” Yisroel go to the Kisa Hakobod and daven they the yeshiva should cover the checks for the melamdim.” ( nothing about himself, the yeshiva was life!!!!
His davening was legendary!!!
Oy vei who can take his place!!!
Baruch Dayan Emes.
Oy, we are losing our gedolim!!
I grew up in Detroit, where the annual visit of the Stoliner Rebbe and chassidim was an eagerly awaited highlight of the year. The Pilchik family, Reb Nissim, and his sons Reb Meir and Reb Yisroel, were responsible for a large part of the energy that the Stoliners brought into the community. They (the chassidim, and especially the Pilchiks) made a huge positive impression on the entire community.
What a special heilige Yid!! I remember him so well from my childhood and had many “stories” with him even as a youngster. He paid attention to children, which is a HUGE mayyla.
Btw, the article says that he learned in Tomchei Temmim. Which yeshiva was that? Or is it still around today?
He is also survived by his zivug sheini of many years. Mrs. Martha Pilchik is a very chashuva woman.
B”DE, all I can say is if you didn’t know him or his family you missed out. Anyone who met him and his brother z”tl were definitely inspired by them. And any child who was lucky enough to have him as a Rebbe or Morah Perel as a teacher got a true foundation for Torah learning.
