A massive Levaya was held on Motzei Shabbos for Hagaon HaRav Shlomo Elyashiv ZATZAL, the oldest son of the late Posek Hador, Hagaon HaRav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv.
Rav Elyashiv was Niftar on Motzei Shabbos in Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Yerushalayim. He was 87.
He was a tremendous Talmid Chochom who learned for many years in Kollel Avreichim and at Yeshiva Bais Aryeh in Yerushalayim. He succeeded his father as the Rov at Bais Medrash “Tiferes Bachurim” in Meah Shearim.
Rav Elyashiv collapsed a number of years ago and was living paralyzed at the Shomrei Hachomos (Herzog House) in Sanhedria, Yerushalayim.
He was named after his grandfather, the great Mekubal Rav Shlomo Elyashiv known as the “Leshem”.
The Levaya was held at Shamgar, and Maspidim included his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaRav Ezriel Auerbach.
The kevura was held on Har Menuchos.
Rav Elyashiv’s wife, Rebbitzen Fruma A”H was niftar three years ago. They leave behind sons and sons-in-law.

He was named after his grandfather After his Maternal Grandfather. His father was born “Levinson” but changed his family name to that of his own father-in-law, Elyashiv, to facilitate immigration certificates with a uniform family name.
Leaves behind sons-in-law ? Are his daughters not alive anymore?
He learned in Kollel Avreichim Beis Aryeh (that’s 1 place not 2) under his uncle Rav Leizer Plachinsky (which puts him into the elite group of leading Roshei yeshiva of our generation who learned by R Leizer incl: R Chaim Kenievsky, R Berel Pavarsky (Ponoviz) R Moshe Shapiro, Rav Dovid Cohen (Chevron) R B M Ezrachi, R Nosson Tzvi Finkel (Mir) R Matisyahu Salomon (Lakewood) R N T Shulman (Slabodka) R Piltz (Tifrach) R S Y Borenshtein.
