Reb Zusha Blech was head n shoulders above all in food chemistry, etc., the International kashrus arena.
He will be missed by all in the International field of kashrus.
This sad news has shaken the Monsey community-R’ Zushe was a wonderful , informative person, appreciated by all. His petirah was sudden and there are few words we can say to mourn this extraordinary person. Jehi zichron boruch.
VERY IMPORTANT HE GIVES A HECHSHER ON MONSEY 711 HOTDOGS BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU GO BACK IN TO EAT THERE TO MAKE SURE ITS 100 PERCENT KOSHER AND THAT SOMEONE TOOK OVER HIS CERTIFICATION
Boruch Dayan haemes. Besides his big knowledge he has a great friend, working together for many years without having any problems, he was a extraordinary person. Nissim Hilu from Mexico

BDE. And fo Annoyed, what do you use for the stuff normally located between the ears?? Such a chashuvah and beloved Rav is tragically Niftar and you are using this thead to put out a “Hot Dog Alert” in all caps?? Please, a bistle common sense. I don’t think the Rav was sitting in a Monsey hot dog joint 24×7 and there are arrangments in place in this and other locations where he was rav hamachshir.
I’m confused, was he from Monsey or Baltimore, because there are a bunch of establishments in Monsey with the hechsher of someone who goes by that name.
Chaya 13:
Its possible he was involved in BOTH NYC area and Baltimore establishments. Rav Blech, Z’TL<, was the Rav Hamachshir for EarthKosher, as speciality hashgacha that focused on more upscale and organic type products and restaurants but also worked for others as well around the country (and possibly overseas) . He was considered an expert in modern Kosher food production and technology including nearly two decades as regional director for the OU and author of one of the definitive textbooks on kashruth supervision. After he left the OU, he started working in a much smaller "niche" hashgacha

His family was originally from the Baltimore/SilverSprings area. My in-laws and my wife were close with his entire family. I can still remember seeing him walking past my house on the way to lain at the Lyncrest Drive Hashcomo Minyan at the end of my block every Shabbos morning. Yes, he was also a phenomenal Bal Koreh! He was also Rabbi Rottenberg, the Kosson Rebbe Forshay, go to guy for both a Bal Koreh stand in, or whenever the Rebba had any technical question pertaining to Kashrus. His parents who passed away not long ago, moved from Baltimore to Monsey to spend their final days at the Fountain View apartments. He answered any calls about Kashrus without hesitation , he will be sorely missed. BD’E.
