Tragedy struck in the Torah city of Bnei Brak on Sunday, 8 Elul 5772. A 55-year-old avreich, a father of nine was niftar. The niftar z”l got up from shiva for his sister on Thursday.

Rav Avrohom Peretz Z”L complained of difficulty breathing in his home on Sfas Emmes Street. Hatzalah was summoned shortly after 10am, and Gush Dan EMTs arrived in a timely fashion, beginning appropriate treatment. An ambulance was dispatched to transport the avreich to a hospital. As they were transferring him to the ambulance he collapsed into cardiac arrest.

Resuscitation efforts including advanced life support failed and he was pronounced dead.
