HaGaon HaRav Naftoli Nebenzahl zt”l was niftar in Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital during the night. The rav, who was 87, was the rosh yeshiva of Ponevezh L’Tzeirim in Bnei Brak.
The niftar was marbitz torah in Ponevezh for a number of decades. He was forced to halt shiurim in the yeshiva a number of years ago due to his weakened state, but this did not prevent him from continuing to give shiurim in his home on Yismach Moshe Street.
The levaya got underway on Wednesday, 9 Sivan 5772 at 13:15 from the niftar’s home and continued via the yeshiva on Rav Meltzer Street to the beis hachaim.

BDE How is the Rav of the Old CIty, Rav Nebenzal related to the niftar?
I thought Rav Shteinman was the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponevezh L’Tzeirim in Bnei Brak. At least that is what it says in Wikipedia.
