YWN regrets to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Avraham Ginzberg Z”L of Forest Hills, NY. Rabbi Ginzberg was the long-time Executive Director of the Rabbinical Seminary of America / Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim and trusted assistant and aide to HaGaon Rav Henach Leibowitz ZATZAL, for more than 5 decades. He was a founding member of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens and the Rav of the Kessel Street Synagogue in Forest Hills for 57 years.
The levaya will take place today (Thursday) at 1:00PM in the Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim Beis Medrash – 76-01 147th Street, Kew Gardens Hills.

Forest Hills has (again) lost a true giant in Torah, Middos, and kindness. Rav Ginzberg exemplified the truest form of gadlus and chessed. One of the nicest men you ever met in your life. May his neshama have an Aliyah.
Rebbetzin Adele Ginzberg, Mrs. Toby Teichman, Mrs. Rachel Rosenshein and Mrs. Suri Schlissel are observing shiva at the Ginzberg home, 68-12 Dartmouth Street, Forest Hills until Wednesday morning.

Rabbis Yesocher and Aryeh Zev Ginzberg will be returning from Eretz Yisrael, and sitting in Forest Hills from Sunday morning through Tuesday evening (about 6pm) after which they will return to their own homes to complete sitting shiva until Thursday morning.
