The Levaya for the Sefer Torah R”L burned in the fire in the Algriva Shul on Shabbos will take place this Sunday, 12 Shevat 5772, combining the kvura with an atzeres hisorarus which will be attended by rabbonim and public officials.

Gabbaim of the shul explained that there were no candles lit in the shul overnight, eliminating that as a cause, and fire investigators did not find an electrical short. At present, all signs point to arson.

The atzeres/kvura event will begin at 3:00pm in Charish and from there; the sifrei Torah destroyed in the blaze will be buried in the cemetery near Shar Menashe.

Rav Brand and other area rabbonim are calling on the public at large to take part in the event.

Also burned in the blaze were tefillin and seforim.
