On erev Shabbos, as he stood in front of the Mir L’Tzei’irim building in Ramat Shlomo, Yerushalayim, HaRav HaTzaddik Yitzchok Nosson Kupershtock zt”l collapsed. He was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later, at the age of 90.
Most who knew the niftar described him as a Yerushalmi from the previous generation, who embodied Avodas Hashem, seeking nothing from this physical world. The niftar, a member of the Batei Broida Kehila was known for his seforim under the title ‘Meoros Nosson’, with his first written when he was in his 30s, addressing the use of electricity on Shabbos. That and his other seforim were widely accepted in yeshivos and by Gedolei Yisrael Shlita.
He was a talmid muvhak of the Gavaad Tishbin zt”l, and considered among the elders of that community.
Last week, he married a grandson in Yerushalayim’s Wolf Hall, taking part in every aspect of the simcha.
His levaya was held on motzei Shabbos at 9:00pm at Shamgar and kvura was in Har Menuchos.
