Rav Shimon Yitzchak Rechnitzer zt”l was niftar in Yerushalayim on Wednesday night, the eve of 20 Cheshvan, one of the elders of the Belze community. The niftar was 82. The niftar was learning Gemara when he returned his neshama to his Creator.
Chadrei Chareidim reports the niftar was among the founders of Yerushalayim’s Kiryat Belze, known as a talmid chacham and yiras Shomayim. He is survived by Rav Yonah (Rosh Yeshivas Chernobyl), Rav Yosef Tzvi (Dom”tz [Dayan Moreh Tzedek] Beis Medrash Beis Pinchas Belz, Ashdod), Rav Meir Dov (Yosh Yeshiva & Dom”tz Belze Haifa).
The levaya took place in Yerushalayim on Thursday morning at 11:00am at Shamgar and then proceeded to Kiryat Belz and to Har Menuchos for kvura.
