Tragedy struck Yerushalayim’s Ramat Shlomo community Thursday morning with the petira of a local resident, Rav Ephraim Gross, only hours ahead of the chasnah of his son.
R’ Gross z”l was niftar in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital following a difficult illness. He was in his 60s. Gedolei Yisrael instructed the family to postpone the chasnah slated for Thursday evening, Kikar Shabbat reports.
Instead of preparing for the wedding, family members on Thursday afternoon gathered at the Shamgar Funeral Chapel for the levaya. The niftar was interred in Har Menuchos. The niftar is survived by his wife and 16 children, most of whom Baruch Hashem he merited to marry off.
Neighbors describe the niftar as a wonderful person and a significant talmid chacham.
