Hachnosas Sefer Torah in city of Pinsk


b01.jpgThe first Hachnosas Sefer Torah since WWII took place in the city of Pinsk last week. Mr David Hirsch of London donated the sefer torah to the Beis Hamedrash in Pinsk, which is run by Reb Moshe Fhima. Over 50 people, family and friends from the USA, UK, Israel & Belgium travelled to Pinsk to celebrate the Hacnosas sefer Torah. Dayan Aharon Dovid Dunner of London, travelled with and is seen in the photo writing the final letters in the Torah.

After the Hacnosas Sefer Torah the group travelled to Radin, Dayan Aharon Dovid Dunner is speaking to a woman across the street from the Chofetz Chaim Yeshiva, who remembered the Yidden being murdered by the Nazis Yemach shemom.

  1. Amazing! Beautiful kovod HaTorah. I think it is worthwhile to mention that the wonderful Kiruv work in Pinsk is being done by “Yad Yisroel” – of Karlin-Stolin, whose origins go back to this exact city over 235 years ago. The shul that the Sefer Torah was brought to, is the shul that Reb Aron of Karlin davened in!

  2. The kesiva was in Beis Aharon which has just been acquired from the belarus Goverment but the Sefer was taken to the yeshiva (present beis HamedrasH, which I am not sure of its history
