Bostoner Rebbe Writes Letter In Baal Shem Sefer Torah

Following his arrival from Boston on Tuesday morning, the Bostoner Rebbe Shlita was excitedly greeted by Chassidei Boston at a Kabbolas Ponim in Yerushalayim that night, privileged and thrilled that the Rebbe will be staying for two weeks spending time in Yerushalayim and Beitar. On Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Bamidbar and the Yom Tov of Shavuos the Rebbe will be in Beitar Illit, to be joined by Chassidei Boston from throughout Eretz Yisroel.

Upon hearing that the Rebbe was in Yerushalayim, a delegation from the organization Ohalei Tzadikim, led by members of its Executive Committee, HaGaon Rav Chaim Yehuda Rabinovitch Av Beis Din in Yerushalayim and HaGaon Rav Chaim Elozor Sheinberg, hurried to invite the Rebbe to participate in the special evening held in Bnei Brak on Wednesday night dedicated to the Baal Shem Tov in the 250th year of his passing. The Rebbe is a direct eighth generation descendant of the Baal Shem Tov, and the delegation emphasized how greatly the Rebbe’s presence would add to this special event. Despite a full schedule the Rebbe went specially to Bnei Brak where he was greeted warmly by the other Rebbes and Rabbonim present, and was invited to write a letter in the Sefer Torah being written in honor of the Rebbe’s holy ancestor.

  1. Not every descendant has to be “ben-acher-ben.” The Twerski family are also descendants of the Baal Shem Tov.

BTW, the Horowitzes [Bostoner Rebbes] are “ben-acher-ben” from the Shelah HaKodesh, and I believe, the Rebbe Reb Shmelke and his brother the Hafla’ah.

The Hornosteipel Twerskis are “ben-acher-ben” from the Rebbe Reb Zusia of Anipoli.
