The Rebbe of Zvill, Rav Avraham [ben Esther Shaina Rochel] Goldman Shlita, 70, is in Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center. According to chassidim close to the Rebbe, he is not responding to his environment. Reports indicate the Rebbe’s condition deteriorated significantly during the past 48 hours, to the point doctors’ fear for his life. The tzibur is asked to be mispalel on his behalf.

The Rebbe’s condition took a sharp turn for the worse on Wednesday, as he was being treated for pneumonia, and he has since ceased responding to his surroundings. Chassidim during the night recited tefillos at the Kosel and at the Tzion of previous Rebbe’s, Rav Shlomo and Rav Gedalyah Moshe ZT”L.

During recent years, the Rebbe Shlita was treated for a very serious illness, from which doctors state he recuperated, adding it appears the Rebbe’s immune system was compromised.

The Rebbe is the seventh Admor in the Zvill dynasty, the son of Rav Mordechai. He learned in Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim of Chabad, and is serving as Rebbe for close to 30 years. The chassidus numbers about 300 families, with many families living in Yerushalayim and Betar Illit.
