The chasenah in the Belzer Court in Yerushalayim that has brought thousands of chassidim from around the world will take place on Tuesday night the eve of 13 Sivan 5773. The chosson, R’ Sholom, is the eldest grandson of the Belzer Rebbe Shlita, a son of HaRav HaTzaddik R’ Aaron Mordechai Rokeach.
A massive tent was set up aside the main beis medrash which was already used to accommodate the many orchim this past shabbos for the Aufruf. Police have announced that in order to accommodate the preparations and ensure the safety of guests, changes in traffic patterns in the area of Kiryas Belz will take effect on Tuesday morning. Dover Shalom Street, the main street running by Kiryas Belz was closed at 06:00. Other streets including Divrei Chaim were closed at 10:00. Area residents received special cards to permit them access to and from the area during the day of the chasenah.
During the chupah, scheduled for 18:00, additional streets will be closed. This includes Shamgar, Petach Tikvah, Minchas Yitzchak, and Toras Chessed.
The chasenah committee tells the tzibur at large that only Belzer Chassidim will be permitted into the beis medrash and the wedding tent in addition to others carrying an entry pass. A special command center for police, EMS and other officials will be operating at the chasenah during the event.
