(Click HERE for photos) The Philadelphia Rosh Hayeshiva Hagaon Harav Shmuel Kaminetski shlit”a arrived today on a two day trip together with a delegation of balebatim from Operation Open Curtain to strengthen its local mosdos and the greater Moscow community. The Rosh Hayeshiva’s packed first day included a shiur to the bochurim of Yeshivas Ohale Yakov, a shiur to the avrechim of the Moscow Kollel, a shiur to local balebatim, a shiur to the women in the community and a reception at the home of the mara d’asra Harav Pinchas Goldschmidt Shlit”a. The Rosh Hayeshiva also found time to speak to many of the community members individually who took advantage of this rare opportunity.
UPDATE: Hagaon Harav Shmuel Kaminetski Shlita began his second packed day in Moscow with shacharis at the Central Choral shul. Next stop was the Talmud Torah and the Etz Chaim day school. Later in the day the Rosh Hayeshiva together with the Operation Open Curtain delegation visited the Jewish Orphanage where the Rosh Hayeshiva presented the boys with mishnayos. The eventful day concluded with a festive Hachnosas Sefer Torah in Operation Open Curtain’s Yeshivas Ohale Yaakov. The entire Moscow community men women and children came to be mishtatef in the great simcha which lasted till late into Tuesday night. Early Wednesday morning the Rosh Hayeshiva and the delegation departed leaving the community enormously inspired.”
