In an attempt to quash persistent rumors that President Obama was not born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, Hawaii’s health director reiterated this afternoon that she has personally seen Obama’s birth certificate in the Health Department’s archives.
“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai’i State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago….”
On Oct. 31, Fukino originally tried to put an end to the belief among so-called “birthers” that Obama was not born in the United States and thus was ineligible to run for the office of president.
Despite Fukino’s statement today, the issue continued to resonate from Capitol Hill to the national airwaves to the blogosphere.
CNN’s Lou Dobbs reported that Hawaii officials had destroyed Obama’s original 1961 birth certificate without citing a source.
A congressional resolution introduced by Hawaii Rep. Neil Abercrombie commemorating the 50th anniversary of Island statehood was postponed today apparently because of a “whereas” clause noting Obama’s Hawaii birthplace.
The line “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961;” has been construed by some who believe Obama is not a U.S.-born citizen as a thinly veiled attempt to get Congress to affirm Obama’s U.S. Citizenship,” Abercrombie spokesman Dave Helfert said.
So-called “birthers” denounce the notion that Obama was born in Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, despite court rulings and statements by Fukino and Hawaii’s Republican governor, Linda Lingle.
Abercrombie’s office had already issued a statement today announcing the House’s unanimous approval of Abercrombie’s resolution when Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann rose today to object to the vote, saying there was not a quorum present.
Before Bachman’s objection, Abercrombie spokesman Helfert had said some birthers believe the resolution “means the House of Representatives is on the record that Hawaii is the birthplace of the president of the United States.”

definitely something fishy about this issue.
There are bigger problems with this administration that debate over his birthplace. Being a natural born citizen is no impediment to destroying America, which is what this president is doing. He hates America; he considers it fatally flawed, and he is hell bent on transforming it into his Socialist vision.
If he has a birth certificate, why can’t he just show it?!
SO, IF HE SAW IT, WHY DOESN’T HE SIMPLY RELEASE IT?
I was taught a very valuable lesson learned many years ago in school, if something is true you provide it right away but if it isn’t true, you wait till you suddenly ‘find’ it. I didn’t ‘find’ it right away.
Put me on the skeptical side.
If I would’ve been asked for my Birth Certificate, I would just give it to whoever asked it, not spend in the area of $1,000,000.00 to hide and seal it. No need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that there is definately something wrong here.

Who cares? The government doesn’t follow the constitution anyway on all kinds of issues. The is a relative “kleinikeit”. Many of our rights according to the constitution are not up held, so what difference does it make where our president was actually born? The real concern is whether or not he is qualified to be president for other reasons, hamavin yovin.
Anybody who questions his citizenship will be audited by the IRS, probed by the FBI, investigated by the attorney general and sued by the justice department. So, for the record, I want to declare that Obama is an American citizen.

That’s it? Someone’s testimony? “I have seen the birth certificate,” therefore it exists? I dont know about this. When something aint right; it’s wrong.
Figuratively, America ended with the Bush Administration. Everything from this point on is the momentum of our coasting.
1) The governor of Hawaii has come out in public and said that she can vouch for the authenticity. And she was the one who put it under seal. Guess what…she’s a REPUBLICAN.
2) Can someone point to ANY evidence that “a million dollars” was spent on legal fees to conceal his birth records? The closest thing is an FCC filing stating that the Obama campaign payed legal fees in the area of ~$700,000 after the election. Bush spent ~$400,000 after his election. Ergo, he must have been born in Canada. Not to mention that legal fees aren’t always paid immediately…so there’s no telling when the fees were actually incurred. Once again, I challenge anyone to provide actual evidence of a grandiose expenditure on Obama’s part to conceal his birth records.
3) I guess it must be an awful coincidence that Hawaiin newspapers contained a birth announcement right around the time that his certificate of live birth says he was born… Either someone has a time machine, or Obama’s parents plotted this all along–they’ve been grooming him for the presidency since birth!
4) The suggestion that the government will harass people who question his US birth is laughable. Presumably along the same line of reasoning as “hey, frum Jews didn’t support Obama’s candidacy and that’s why the FBI was after the religious Jews in ‘Big Rig’!”
You people really are insane. Do you doubt that we landed on the moon? Do you think that GWB really was the one who perpetrated 9/11? Because you might as well, since you don’t sound any less crazy. Everyone accuses others of engaging in conspiracy theories until they themselves believe in one–then of course it’s a legitimate and founded belief. Give me a break, this is like watching 5th-graders argue. Grow up.
I am tired of all this quibbling over Obama’s birth certificate. If you were intelligent you wouldn’t take issue over every stupid thing.

To # 13 – I don’t know about that grandmother charge, never heard it before, BUT there IS PLENTY OF INFORMATION to lead us to believe that the other items on your list ARE true!!! We’re stuck with him for now, but I think as time goes on, the truth of these charges will be proven. At the end of the day, HaSh-m is the One in control of everything and obama and all the world “leaders” are just His tools.
