Share the Burden Committee Likely to Favor Personal Sanctions Against Talmidim

idffThe government Share the Burden Committee headed by Minister of Science (Yesh Atid) Yaakov Peri appears to be heading to a strict interpretation of new draft laws aimed at the chareidi tzibur. It is likely that in addition to imposing monetary sanctions on yeshivos failing to cooperate with efforts to draft talmidim, the talmid himself will face criminal prosecution, including fines and possibly arrest.

According to a Yediot Achronot report, some of the ministers serving on the committee feel that monetary sanctions against a yeshiva may prove inadequate as a yeshiva can do its own fundraising and thereby compensate for the reduced government funding. These ministers fear the fines levied against yeshivos may become symbolic acts in the eyes of yeshivos, leading them in the direction of favoring sanctions against the individuals themselves in the hope of achieving higher compliance with new draft laws.

  1. The secular press said PRISON since monetary sanctions against people with no assets are meaningless. Fines against yeshivos mean seizing money raised overseas (i.e. in the US) for supporting Torah and confiscating it for the Israeli treasury.

I think the apologists for the Dati Leumi and zionist camps should finally realize that Lapid/Bennett are our enemies, probably more than the Arabs (who only want land and glory but don’t object to Torah and Mitsvos). The zionists are now preparing to implement their dream of a people free from the yoke of Torah, and those who have been collaborating should realize they have been played for a fool, and should get ready to join the resistance.

  2. The tziyonim’s cantonist sysyem will never break Jewry’s back. We will defy them regardless of their penalties.

  3. Won’t they lose more money housing all these draft dodger cowards in jail than they could possibly collect in fines?

  4. #1- Why do you refer to them as “our enemies”? Do you live in E”Y? No? Then they are not YOUR enemy.

  5. As long as Arabs who are citizens of Israel and get government funding equally to Jews do not have to “share the burden”, the reshaim in the government will not be able to fine or imprison charedim.

The minute the reshaim dare penalize a charedi, there’ll be huge demonstrations around the world and perhaps even civil war. Can you imagine the Zionists’ shame?

  6. wats so bad we hav 2 do our hishtadlus and isreal is only as big as new jersy againts 1 of the biggest populations they of all people need an army and the way us jews r dealing with this is a BIG chilulHashem

  7. I have seen quotes from Roshei Yeshiva there who are ready to leave Eretz Yisrael with their yeshivos, if necessary.

If these Zionist shmad policies drive out the Torah Jews from Eretz Yisrael, one wonders what merit will the Zionists have to prevent the land from expelling them, as written in the Torah?

  8. Here we go again….My question that is STILL unanswered. Why won’t those not drafted (above age 22) and learning, provide protection and merit for the people of E”Y? Why does their learning not count? No one is shutting down yeshivos!
