The bill that was defeated in Knesset today, Wednesday, 16 Sivan 5772 left the chareidi tzibur divided as was reported earlier.
While Yahadut HaTorah MKs Moshe Gafne and Uri Maklev opposed the vote in line with instructions from HaRosh Yeshiva HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita, Yisrael Eichler voted in favor in line with instructions to do so from the Belzer Rebbe Shlita. It appears that MK (Yahadut HaTorah) Rav Menachem Eliezer Moses appears to have abstained as well.
Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita instructed Shas to vote in favor of the bill, but when threatened with being ousted from the cabinet, the gadol hador instructed cabinet ministers to abstain. Shas MKs Nissim Ze’ev, Avraham Michaeli, Amnon Cohen, David Azoulay, and Yitzchak Vaknin voted in favor of the bill.
MK (Am Shalem) Rav Chaim Amsellem, previously of Shas, voted in favor of the bill to save the Beit El homes.

MK Mr. Amsallem is STILL part of Shas, even though he is a lone bird lame-duck who won’t be in the next Kenesset.
In other words, every Jew to his own degal.
Shas party has always been the most nationalistic and concerned about Jews living in Yehuda and Shomron. More clarification need over the Daah of Rav Steinman shlit”, Does that mean when ever a seller is not happy with his decision to sell…the property reverts back to him EVEN after contract, payment and signatures?

Did he really vote in favor of the proposed law?
#3, Yes, he did. And he’s right that he doesn’t owe the DL community anything. He voted for the bill because it was the right thing to do, not because the residents about to be chucked out of their homes are DL. And he fully expects those residents not to be grateful for his vote.
