There will always be people who cant handle “artificial” sweetener of ANY kind, the same way people cant deal with REAL sugar. See if it works for you.
Getting used to it with one MAJOR exception…..
It used to be when we clicked on the “comments” link for a story, we were taken to the comments of said story AND the actual story was on top.
Now, we are taken to a NEW page with only the comments and NOT the story. This is frustrating as many times we have to look at the story again before telling someone they are a goofball who should have read the story better.
the question would also be how his peers are dressing. this reminds me of a parent who was crying bitereh trerin to be that his son was talking to girls and I laughed my head off in his face. I told him he was a fool. He sent his kid to a school with girls (it wasnt co-ed, they were just in the same building) so what does he expect!
so how are the peers dressing? what activity was he involved in that he was wearing jeans?

This is nothing new and was a problem when I was taking the bus 35 years ago! Being a number of years removed from my teenage years I really wish the yeshivas and bais yaakovs are more up front with issues re yichid, n’giyah etc. They seem to think if they dont talk about it, thus NOT giving the bocherim / maydelach halochik guidance, there wont be a problem. When I have teenage guests they dont understand why they cant be here when I am not considered b’ir. This is not hard to teach in a yeshiva setting with proper hashkofos.

mazal77, there is a kosher cinnabon off Rt-4 in NJ nr Teaneck. The address is 450 Hackensack Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601. They are together with Carvel and they are under the Kof-K. I suggest calling to see if they are still kosher.
pusht, keep in mind that if the product is marked dairy it would mean it is dairy as no one is vouching that the equipment is cleaned between products. Thus, you could have mamesh dairy on the line while your “DE” thing is going thru. In that case, your DE item is very very D!
Campbell’s soups are NOT kosher!!!!!!! They were under the Half Moon K and the last kosher run took place last Sept (over a year ago!). There was only ONE type that was kosher …. the Vegetarian Vegetable… which was part of their problem in getting it sold.
as far as what we wish would be kosher, when you think about it, whatever can be kosher out there from the major companies is kosher (just about anyway).
I would go along with the Hostess products. I would also like to have some Wonder Bread once. I hear it tastes like air but I want to make the choice. I would also like the Wrigley products in the USA to go kosher. I heard from someone VERY reliable a few years ago that it was close but I dont know what happened.
someone wanted skittles…. i think those have carmine in them which is not acceptable. I think they could also have stearates in them which could be non kosher.
Instead of hocking about it here why not pose the shayla to a competent posek who actually has a knowledge of the food industry and the actual m’tzius involved. I dont get it. When I was in elementary school in NYC, we constantly started the day after Labor Day. Labor Day comes out between 9/1 and 9/7 as it does this year. Thus, when I was in Yeshiva K’tana we would start on the 8th. The reason for this could have to do with the Public Schools which also start then and the Yeshivas wouldn’t have Limuday Chol teachers till then.
I have a question back, why do you look at your kid’s school as your own personal babysitting service???
Maybe spend some time with your kids and get to know them a bit in a way you haven’t till now. You may actually learn something about them you didn’t know?!

I voted for McCain!! I will NEVER vote for a socialist like Obama. I believe in keeping the minimal money I earn. I don’t want to pay more I taxes.

There are numerous reasons why I wont be voting for BHO. I think you have to ask yourself which party is more in line with your personal political thinking.
Generally the liberals (aka the democratic party) is more interested in big govt which means the govt can do no wrong and the govt is the solution to all problems. What this ends up doing to the country is we have higher taxes in order to pay for all that they give away, more unemployment etc. Of course they will throw the line out to you that they are only taxing the rich but that isnt true. Given Obama’s plan no matter what he tells you he considers ‘rich” to be about 75k which even if you are making that money, as a frum person, that is not too much considering tuition etc.
If the ‘rich’ are taxed more keep in mind that its the ‘rich’ that employ you and if they are paying more in taxes you could kiss your raise or your possible bonus good bye. He also wont be hiring anyone new either which means you could be working harder for the same amount of pay.
A friend of mine recently married a girl from Britan and she was amaized that people liked this country. In the UK she noted people are so downtrodden because they pay so much in taxes so they could support all their programs, the biggest of which is national healthcare. Can you imagine the govt being in charge of when you can go to a doctor, when you can have certain medical treatments etc?? This is what the Democratic party keeps talking about. I have seen the results of nationalized healthcare, what it did to a family member of mine and I promise you its NOT good at all. No one is being denied medical care! That is simply a complete lie being told to you by the left. The proof is that the ERs are so full of people who run there for non emergencies exactly because they are not turned down in the ER!
Other items to consider are where they stand “hashkofikly” with you. Are you pro life or pro the murder of babies in the womb? Lets put it simply, open a chumash Va’yikra and whereever in Achray Mos / Kedoshim it says “NO,” the liberals say “YES.” That is the long and short of it. Do you feel we need a strong national defense? That we need to be on the offensive when it comes to fighting the yishmaelim yemach sh’mom? That we CANNOT cut and run from a war, any war, no matter how ‘unpopular’ the war may seem to be and WE MUST DEFEAT THE ENEMY? BHO has said he will pull out of Iraq right away. We cannot do that because if we do, the enemy will grow again and they will come here AGAIN. Too many people have forgotten that the muslims STARTED UP WITH US on many occasions. They highjacked planes and flew them into the WTC!! REMEMBER THAT?????? For goodness sakes we are still in Europe and Korea despite the wars being ‘over’ 50 & 60+ years ago. You cant just leave.
Very rarly will you agree 100% with a particular candidate. My political leanings are Conservative so as much as I like President Bush, I will disagree with some of his spending habits which are not what we call fiscally conservative. I dont agree 100% with Senator McCain either especially on immigration but you have to take some of the bad with the good. I dont think he was the best Republican candidate out there but since he is left over and I learned more about him, I am supporting him.
I read your last post and I have to comment on some of your answers. Do you really feel you are not paying enough in taxes? I dont know how old you are but as I recall history the tax rate was up about 60% before being cut by President Reagan. Can you imagine losing more than 2/3 of your check just to taxes?!! To me, 33% is too much. You dont get it back because the dems will use it for some wasted program.
Affirmative Action is something which in reality is breeding racism b/c the people who dont deserve the jobs based on their credentals are getting them bec of their color. That is not fair and causes more hatred. Just the facts. The Yiddish word for Black shouldnt come into play here. Nothing will change that or the feelings people have when they see some of them (black, white, green, purple… makes no diff) running around acting like the lowest level of b’haimas.

Just remember that the nazis yemach sh’mm v’zichrom had more rachmonis on animals than they did on people. Their ‘rachmonis’ that they have for the animals is seriously misguided. What I would suggest is that something be said to the kashrus agency that certifies this place. There is almost no reason for them to be mechalel shabbos b’farhesia like he mentions. Most RELIABLE agencies who certify a hotel on a full time basis will make sure the staff is aware of what they can or cant do in public. Its complex but it can work.

hate to break it to you but they dont teach laining 101 in yeshivas. i have no idea how to lain (torah) and it has nothing to do with yeshiva. its more to do with not having the minhag to do so for my bar mitzva (not that i could lain haftora too well if at all).
as far as his problem. I think he went to the wrong place. Simple. If he wanted to know about the place he should have asked DETAILED questions. My father A”H was the mashgiach in a well known hotel for over 20 years and he always got calls from people wanting to know if the place was for them. With the amount of people who didnt come after speaking to him, they could have opened a new location for those special clientele.
