Most schools do not accept applications, or set up interviews when you are not a resident of Lakewood.
zionflagParticipantRead it, hang on fridge for 2-3 days, share with family members, tell sender thank you & throw out..
zionflagParticipantCall the Yeshiva in Sderot, they run youth activities & always need a helping hand.

zionflagParticipantEven decades ago, driving was allowed at 17yrs old after completing a driver’s ed course. I know, since I took one in 1967 and drove at 17.
Many states allow students who take a driver’s ed course to drive as a senior driver, one year earlier. GOOD LUCK!!
zionflagParticipantThe Status Quo that went into effect regarding Yeshiva students army enlistment always have large holes in the system.
Two possibilities that were never envisioned:
1. What happens when an avreich is ready to leave yeshiva (for whatever reason?)? In the past Rabbis Shach, Shmuelvitz, Schwartzman, etc ordered them to enlist in the short 18month post Yeshiva program.
2. There has grown a larger than imagined fifth column of Bnei Yeshiva who are not continuing in TORASU UMENASU….. what are their responsibilities to the State that they live in and are citizens of?
If these two issues would have been dealt with efficiently then today’s rally, decrees, government situation would NEVER have arisen.
zionflagParticipant“”murdered innocent Palestinians” — YEAH Innocent Palestinians who were hiding axes and hatchets under their prayer mats. Innocent Palestinians yelling out “Ackbar Jiden” “Allah Achbar”…
Yeah Innocent Palestinians, are you for real? The Arab Clan of Chevron is the most vicious, evil, cruel group ever, just check out the rock throwing, murders of Jews that have occurred in this area since 1967.
zionflagParticipantIf you are seriously investigating this event, then you need to check all Mossad, IDF and police information leading up to the murders. There was an all-0ut ARAB MASSACRE in the making (a repeat of 1929) for Purim day, you will note that hatchets & axes(typical Arab weapons) plus spears and knives were found under the carpets in the Arab hall (Yitzchak aveinus ohel)after the attack by Baruch Goldstein. QUESTION #1: Why were these items hidden there in a mosque? (if not to initiate a Purim Massacre that Haman never succeeded in!!)
Dr. Goldstein had a medical clinic where he treated Arabs and Jews alike and was known as a stable, efficient and well-liked doctor, not as an extremist. After the murder of the Arabs it was found that most were descendants of 1929 residents of Chevron.
QUESTION #2: Arabs never retaliate by killing Jews, it is an ongoing war to rid the land of infidels. Why are you assuming that 12 Israelis were murdered due to Goldstein’s act?
zionflagParticipantI personally know the Roshei yeshiva there and many of the rebbaim. Wholesome bnei torah, out of town, great Rebbe-Talmid relationship, and a lovely community to be part of. Good choice for an out of town yeshiva with excellent learning environment and secular studies to boost.
zionflagParticipantOne of the most popular name for baby boys post churban Beis Sheni was ALEXANDER, in honor of Alexander the Great. It is not a new innovation to name after leaders of countries. As a matter of fact, chazal requested all baby boys to be named Alexander as a mode of hakaros hatov.
Names are cultural and personal. In the city of Efrat, you will not find a child named Yoeli, while Williamsburg does not have boys named Yair or Evyatar (both Bibilical names). Mighty difficult to find a Yiddisha name among Sefardic Jews, or an Israeli name among Chassidim. IOW, so what?
Lashon Hakodesh has changed over the years, there is lashon hatorah, lashon tanach, lashon chachomim, lashon hamikreh each initiating new verbs, words and expressions. Be a yid, act like a yid, light up the world in holiness and be proud of whatever is your given name. Reb Moshe Feinstein zt”l ruled against parents who named a child a name that would cause them ‘shame’ in the future, a child must and should love his name.
