April 10, 2012 12:43 am at 12:43 am in reply to: Quality of language in YWN comments and postings #866943ZeesKiteParticipantPatri: Are you sure?!? (btw – that’s by the way, Mommy let me post tonight!!)
ZeesKiteParticipantI remember hearing it’s a pasuk in Shir HaShirim (2:14) ?????? ?? ????? ???????? ?? ???? ?? ???? ??? ?????? ????. This implies that the voice of a female is also a pleasing, attracting beauty of her, not to be shared with a strange male. That is the source. It’s complete application and halachos are discussed in Shulchan Aruch, as any other Jewish laws.
ZeesKiteParticipantIn our shule, the baal korei waits until the “choir” finishes ENTIRELY, then he proceeds.
April 9, 2012 6:38 pm at 6:38 pm in reply to: Not writing on Chol Hamoed, what about posting in the CR? #866742ZeesKiteParticipantCrazybrit: I agree with most of what you wrote. The last sentence I disagree.
ZeesKiteParticipantSigning back in (with my left hand)
ZeesKiteParticipantNo, I don’t know ANYTHING about poetry. (if you read it left to right bottom to top..)
I was refering to Gefen’s request to start a new (CR!)
and Gefen, I’m sorry I missed the opportunity to mention it was all your idea. Thank you!
April 6, 2012 3:21 am at 3:21 am in reply to: The Longest Seder ContestHow Late Will Your Seder End? #1199573ZeesKiteParticipantI would dare posit that it’s the ‘tochen’ that counts. These great men were totally into it – at their level – a whole night.
This is the night of chinuch, tradition. Parents to children, Rabbis to pupils. What we put in, stays. Every minute counts. HaShem attached such an importance and significance to these mitzvhos. Indeed, this is Toldos Am Yisroel, our emergence as Yidden. Lets all try to give it our very best, to come out of it as a better Yid.
ZeesKiteParticipantIn my humble opinion buying animal feed in Pesach is worse then chametz from before Pesach. The one before Pesach was already ‘batel’ with ‘kol chamira’, whereas buying chametz is definitely NOT batel. Furthermore, to my limited knowledge, one cannot be mevatel his newly acquired chametz in pesach, so he’s stuck with the aveira.
ZeesKiteParticipantYes, Oomis, I like the way you put it down. I think that’s the difference between the first and second sons. “What’s all this drudgery for?” – that says it all! We are cleaning because we are lucky to be chosen to do HaShem’s bidding. A mitzvah just for us to elevate ourselves.
ZeesKiteParticipantJust finished my last one.. (5:50 am!!!!)
ZeesKiteParticipantShticky: The answer to both questions would probably be yes, unless it’s a monkey texting a martian.
ZeesKiteParticipant!?-Wha-!?
Am I in the wrong place?
ZeesKiteParticipantThank you Yossi. It was really kind.
April 5, 2012 4:23 am at 4:23 am in reply to: Listen to the rabbis and common sense sometimes. #866078ZeesKiteParticipantThe Rabbi said to love all Jews. Simple logic tells us to exclude certain types. Who do I listen to?
ZeesKiteParticipantCould someone kindly care to tell me how I should post from my phone. (Rotary dial)
ZeesKiteParticipantFor me!!!
ZeesKiteParticipantStill trying to figure it out…
ZeesKiteParticipantIt sure is!!!! (gumbal could I borrow a few?) !!!! !!!! !!!! !!!!
ZeesKiteParticipantI hear you.
ZeesKiteParticipantWHAT A SURPRISE!!!
I’ll tell her. Which volume should I ask her to buy?
(btw, she’s looking for towels…)
ZeesKiteParticipantLogician:
I chas v’sholom didn’t mean to slight anyone, more so an accomplished posek. I’m just saying that – sha’alos should be handled by acknowledged poskim – not anonymous dass baal habatim posters such as us (if you are a posek, kindly state so, I’ll defer to you too)
ZeesKiteParticipant“with all due respect to RY’s, leave them out of such a question”..
This looks like it’s becoming to look like another filthy site I ran from. We should leave Roshei Yeshivos out of Halachah shaalos, and instead have anonymous dass chamorim rule. Seems like Moshiach’s right around the corner.
??? ???? ???? ????. A dog will run ahead of it’s master, thinking, portraying for all that it is the boss, it is the one leading it’s master! Only at the crossroads does it stop, he is forced to concede, it’s master will show him which is the proper path.
ZeesKiteParticipantI LOVE the last one, where he expertly deals with a lot of Yiddishkeit issues not addressed so commonly (chesed, hislahavus, vatranus). A real valuable chinuch tool.
ZeesKiteParticipantHa Ha. What a TROLL!!! Brought on by Rav HaRashi Key Master Himself!!!
Imagine in middle of Chol HaMoed at some agreed upon location – “POPA? Is That you?”, “Shticky?!? How nice to meet you”. “BPT?!?” And high-pitched shrieking nearby: “GUMBAL!!!!! – so that’s you!!!!”. “OOMIS – glad to meet you”. “Gefen- You IRL?”. Some educated, stately woman (at a respectful distance away): “Hi, I’m Aries. I used to post. I matured!!”
ZeesKiteParticipantSorry. I’m working in developing an Eyain Torah. As my profile states “Middos Under Construction”.
Besides: To be dan l’kaf z’chus – Are you an absent minded proseffor? Do you know what it does to a person. That he displayed ANY good manners, that he mishes with people, shows he worked on himself!
ZeesKiteParticipantKindly send her my recent regards. (It’s the special guards – the re-gards)
ZeesKiteParticipantI guess they’re on the prowl again.
Someone has to take the time to give this new brood of MODs a humor course. (Mods – it’s at the end of the modding manual – sec. 3.25a, fourth through ninth and a half par.) I suggest CR administrators test their MOD applicants on their ability to discern humor, jokes, light moments etc. I’m developing a testing / screening method.
ZeesKiteParticipantNo. Not quite so. First of all, he did say please, twice. Second, he is a absent-minded professor – hence his impatientness. Then also, bear in mind, he had so many responsibilities, he had no time for niceties. Did you head a surgeon request “Kind dear assistant, could you please graciously kindly hand me over the scalpel”? (Even if you did, it’s not the way I perform operations) And he had the whole machine (kugelator, grepslink etc.) to take care of.
Teachers are faced with this sort of dilemma on a daily basis. To afford one more attention on the expense of the whole class, school. It’s actually better middos to take care of a kllal than a yachid. – In my humble opinion –
ZeesKiteParticipantI was going to say no. But you wouldn’t hear me. So..
Of course. Welcome. Come right in. Every one of sane mind is busy with their Pesach preparations. That automatically counts me out. Hence, I’m the only one with the great honor to ofishily welcome you.
ENJOY.
ZeesKiteParticipantShe was such a personality. She had us ALL in the palm of her hands, reading and sharing her posts, stories, saga. It was so riveting, moving. She indicated earlier that she’d leave, she came back for some while and then sort of just left. I too miss those lines, posts, masterful threads.
ZeesKiteParticipantHow to send it along on the electronic highway to the computer system of our esteemed Yeshiva World Coffee Room. Iv’e been grappling with this issue for some time.. That’s why I can’t post.
ZeesKiteParticipantAnd you too can keep in touch with me if you can figure out how.
ZeesKiteParticipantEvery one is entitled to a try!!
ZeesKiteParticipantAfter a year, one tends to forget.
ZeesKiteParticipantYou too remember her?
ZeesKiteParticipantWe know every Kunda line better the Rabbi Kunda himself.
ZeesKiteParticipant??? ???? ???? ??? ??? ??? ?? ???? ????? ?????
Bereishis somewhere, OK, it’s kapital 4 passuk 21
And NO. I’m not knowledgeable in the least. My silly posts attest to that.
ZeesKiteParticipantNo. You’d been freaked out. Totally. And after getting real hooked into this (what ever you call it), the Choson shlita went to dance with his choseve Kalla. Right. Jumping up and down. Together. Choson and Kallah. All to the beat. Of this “Jewish” music. Yeah…
ZeesKiteParticipantPress the <Reset> button. It’s location varies, different models…
ZeesKiteParticipantCheerios in mittens!!
March 30, 2012 3:32 pm at 3:32 pm in reply to: Are these young women nuts, selfish, out of it or something else? #865106ZeesKiteParticipantBefore holding the door ask them if they’ll thank you.
ZeesKiteParticipantI thought I made myself clear. Who determines what.. I think something you’d perform in front of Gedolim and not be ashamed of. To be really honest with oneself, not what I’m comfortable with. I have nothing wrong with people making themselves ‘git mashuga’. Just don’t associate it with Jewishness, don’t call it Jewish music.
ZeesKiteParticipantGefen: It’s OK. It’s expected of anyone involved with this holy task of Pesach Cleaning. Which is why I escape to this wonderful place known as the CR!!
ZeesKiteParticipantTry Panasonic. It’s great. It has a new modern feature, using buttons instead of a dial. You could reach someone just by tapping the buttons instead of the commonly used method of the rotary dial. It’s a great phone.
ZeesKiteParticipantSam2:
Sure. In today’s so mixed up society, one doesn’t need R. Zeira to mellow down the tone with ??? ?? ??????. All you need is to chant this idiotic latest craze Yallili – which means Lamentations!!
Yeah, try picturing in your mind’s eye the Holy Chafetz Chaim dancing to it. Sure. All “Jewish music” was more or less borrowed…
Some folk have truly overstepped the boundaries. Trouble is, the ‘hamon am’ look up to these singers/producers as the nation’s heroes. HOW SAD! There are some Jewish sites offering clips of interesting tidbits, news etc. Most of them are of singers, players etc. C’mon, Are they our heroes we should emulate???
ZeesKiteParticipantWhat my little ones stash away (just in case their parents go broke and won’t be able to feed them)
ZeesKiteParticipantI get approximately 10 such calls A DAY. In fact I just got one TWO MINUTES AGO!!! They have NO RACHMANUS. You could be in middle of washing dishes, cooking, bathing. (Actually that’s what brings them on – I mean it!) You have to interrupt whatever you’re doing and contend with the latest:
<pasue>, <slow motion> “Hello Mr./Mrs. So and So, I’m calling on behalf of <non-Jewish articulation> XXXX. Could we kindly count on your support this year for $250? <Wait for negative response> OK we understand you’re currently going through financial difficulties. Could we count on you for $250?…”
Frustrating.
ZeesKiteParticipantGefen: The proper title by which to address an unmarried woman is by “Miss”.
