Insurance doesn’t pay for looking (peeking, gazing, staring) at a doctor. Generally they pay (reluctantly) to a doctor who sees a patient.

If my headaches and accessories would go away, maybe I’d be able to somewhat ventilate (air out) the area here. Problem is I’m bogged down by my headaches, moods etc. and need someone to cheer me up (down or sideways).

They’ve not perfect and all knowing

I think they’re a lot more ‘perfect and all knowing’ than daas-baal-habayis posters here. They knew perfectly well what they were doing. Where are the descendants of the multitudes of Jewish immigrants of that era? TOTALLY WIPED OUT!! Zilch. ZERO. How many times do we find totally assimilated ‘Jewish’ families all over the Americana?!

Besides, this is the same calling as the previous ‘isms’ (Haskala etc) – see! The Rabbis don’t know everything. We’re smarter then them! Us against ‘them’. I don’t know about you, I chose to have the Gedolim as my leaders, my guiding light, my admiration.

Read what Rabbi Miller ztz”l writes (quoting from memory), “the secular Jews ask ‘shall we let the Rabbis lead us like blind sheep..?’ Indeed, we are like blind sheep, a Jewish nation without it’s leaders is truly like a blind sheep..”

About Hallel, he says ???? ??? ?????? ??? ???? ?????? ????, so many are drowning in the ocean of kefirah r”l, and you say Hallel?!?

Actually there’s a story about (I think Rav Yaakov Galinski) where after the six day war they made a huge affair, commending and praising all the war personal and strategies. He was coerced to come along. Towards the close of the event, one Major stood up and announced “..and now we shall hear from our Rabbi of Jerusalem, of the war efforts done in Meah Shearim and Bnei Brak.” Sneers.

On the spot he got up and said “Before the war, they were estimating casualties and countless park and been assigned as temporary cemeteries. Yeshiva men were assiged the task of cheva kadisha, to assist the army officials in their work. HaShem however cared more for their learning and Tehillim, he spared the any extra work, enabling them to maximize their time in Torah study. Does anybody care that theses designated places still remain a park?” Thunderous applause!!!

If I’m not mistaken, I think loshon hora applies to the living. It’s a chumra (cherem) not to speak about those not living.

It would be no loshon hara if they would be alive either, they were porkei ohl.

    OOMIS:

First of all, as I wrote before, the first Mishna proclaims the purpose of gedarim and chumros. Did HaShem want krias shma to be said only until chatzos? That was a gezaira of chazal. Do you eat afikoman before chatzos? Another gezaira. Again. I think most of talmud is busy with gezairos and “derabanan” (could be). “To distance man from sin”.

About sinas chinam – I don’t think that’s a cause for some not to become better in a certain aspect. If others are jealous – JOIN. For instance, Iv’e heard in New Square they have separate sides of the street for men and women. How many times have I heard “the other camp” ridiculing etc. Iv’e NEVER heard one of them poking fun at those who don’t. Same with a lot of other communities, issues. Any time it comes to an issue of betterment in “BAIN ADAM LAMAKOM” they come with their battle cry “chadash asur”, “less chumros”, “HaShem is perfect” etc. They’re not hurting you. Let them live too.

One more issue here (and I suspect it does NOT apply to you, OOMIS). Rabbi Miller zatzal said many times ???? ??? ?????, a person is best evaluated according to what he praises – according to what EXCITES him. Here we have on who is excited over his Creator, he’s constantly singing His praises ???? ?? ?? ???. We have another who’s constantly praising Gedolei Yisroel. Then we have another who always get’s excited at a “chumra” someone else, or anther community is doing. Always downplaying avodas HaShem. OOMIS, I know this is NOT you. You always have ?? ???? ???? ???, HaShem’s name is constantly mentioned in your posts, I suspect all the more so in actual real life (as if this isn’t real life). We are bidden to ????? ???? ??? ???? ????, this world is a race to come as close to HaShem as possible, (and as far from gashmios too). I highly doubt that running around all day looking for less chumros (while being at heart a functioning Jew), will get anyone to a runner-up.

Please, please, I don’t want to get mixed into this debacle again. JUST ONE POINT about Ponevezh flying a flag. It means nothing about him / them becoming a zionist of mizrahi. It just means he has “mitgefeel”, plain decency and courtesy. Same as flying a flag in America on July fourth. Especially if one is benefiting from the government. Of course, show your respect, acknowledgement. (Do any of the bochurim learning inside have any idea about that flag, the day, the events?)

oomis: ?? ????? and ?? ?????? ???? are when one adds to the mitzva of HaShem. He says eat in a sukka seven days and you’re adding more. He says wear four parshios in tefilin and you’re adding a fifth. When one is doing it as an harchaka, it’s commendable. As I myself wrote, Adam’s misstep was he didn’t indicate that it was his own safeguard.

    The very first mishna concludes with ???? ????..??? ?????? ??? ?? ??????.

“We were evicted from Gan Aiden because of the world’s first chumra”

Highly doubt that, else the adage ??? ???? ????? would have been an aveira. HaShem gave us this mitzva, over and over we are told ????????, holy, more holy. Written Torah, oral Torah, Medrash etc. It’s foolish to argue on this point. All the gedarim and harchakos of Chazal – cases our eviction…

If you have anything to say about Adam HaRishon, it him not giving over the fact that it was his own harchaka.

One more thing, ????? ???? ???? is also a Mitzvah, same mitzvah as keeping men away from women etc. If you want others to GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to respect and befriend you, it’s a chumra! Think about it.

Doesn’t anyone sane here think there’s something extremely wrong here with equating this event instituted by mechalelei shabbos with the Yomim Tovim of HaShem, or of the ones created by anshei knesess hagedolah (nevi’im)?? Isn’t that going a bit too far? C’mon folks.

Oh, and that comment on the “something to think about” thread – “Sadly, Naturei Karta have chosen to severe themselves from the Jewish people.. but every other one of we authentic Jews have to unite on this wonderful auspicious moment..” I think is a great misconstruction, greatly fabricated.

No. The majority of K’lal Yisroel (In Eretz Yisroel and chutz la’aretz, follow true manhigim. True gedolei Yisroel. While it’s not our life’s focus to demonstrate, fight, burn flags, (shake hands with ..), we don’t buy into any of this zionist stuff. We see through this whole spiel. THAT IS THE MAJORITY of Torah true Jews. Does BMG hold a mesiba (r”l). Gur, Bobov, Viznitz hold a ticsh?!? Get real.

Why so few make such a “big deal” about it here, while the majority of Am HaTorah have very few posts here, is plainly simple – because they’re busy doing their duty! They’re either learning, davenening or busy with household – to be mechanech children al pi Torah. So they’re too busy to post. As opposed to silly little me.

    Oomis: You’re right again!

Of course a person must know the difference. HaShem gave us the Torah and mitzvohs. No one is trying to “out-chumra”, “outfrum” the other. We are told to keep His mitzvohs, in order to come close to him. As I heard from a Godol; it nays nowhere in Shulchan Aruch that one shouldn’t daven while holding a cat. (Or texting!) Is that called an “exessive chumra” to feel HaShem’s ratzon and refrain?

A person may be yotzai learning (I think) by reciting krias shma. Is one who learns an hour called an exessive chumra?

Did you ever open a sefer Tehillim? Are you poking fun, ridiculing those that didn’t??

I live in an area where families of devout, pious, extra carefully religious families get so well along with ALL other types. Litvish, Chasidish, Roshei Yeshivos and Ramim, working etc. I’ve not encountered a divisiveness as such anywhere.

p.s. Due to you, I gained another Chumra in Ve’havta L’reacha Kamocha!

I don’t have a need to show my disdain for that, as I have no need to go protest for any of the other many “worthy” causes. I just don’t buy the modern day replacement of Am Hanivchar, I still think HaShem is in charge of His world, and that we have avodas HaShem to accomplish. That mitzvas yishuv haaretz (if applicable) is but one of his many other commandments. I have no need or use to go out to demonstrate or fight.

I wrote somewhere else, when it comes to gashmius, materialism, we don’t hear them cry “what? another modern invention??” etc. Shouldn’t we Torah Jews show we have modernized, upgraded, our Torah performance? Shouldn’t we show the world we are a savvy, modernized nation?

There’s another faction who are at a contest. To see how little they can hold of mitzvohs and still be labeled a practicing Jew. The bare minimum Torah one has to uphold.

No respect at all is needed. As stated over and over, I’m a cute little pudgy punk.

(million shades of grey.. disagree that that “bilbul hamoach” is worse today). There you have it. You stated that its not black & white, then you state there’s not such a bilbul hamoach. In fact that is exacly what I’m referring to. There is so much Kedusha involved, as I stated. Kedushas Ha’aretz, Torah learning (Toras Eretz Yisrooel), Mekomos Hakedoshim, special mitzvohs of Eretz Yisroel. At the other side (and concurrently) there’s all these “movements”, anti-Torah, anti-HaShem. So many “deyos”, so many different factions.

Of course now a lot of Yidden live there, and Torah flourishes by leaps and bounds. No thank you to the Zionist inventors. Just like the claim of ?? ?? ?????? ?? ????? ??? ????? ?????, and HaShem’s response.

My theory? HaShem is showering us with an abundance of Chesed and protection IN SPITE of the armies, government, agencies etc. ??? ?? ?? ????.

As he says, your “commonwealth” was built directly from the blood of the Kedoshim. Read up. Read other history works. Try to get a copy of “Perfidy”. Read.

Read how those reshaim at the time used the world sympathy to create this new entity. Read how they laid claim to be heirs of the Kedoshei Europe.
