January 29, 2012 1:24 pm at 1:24 pm in reply to: Why do ONLY seminary girls get to learn navi? #859021zeena.kastaMemberTodays society will never measure up to the gedolim that made those meforshim, but some girls know more tanach than men…so what?? men know enough to function and they learn gemora, so that have greater depth in specified areas. woman just have the general knowledge
zeena.kastaMemberWhat are your experiences of Darchei Binah?
zeena.kastaMemberand about darchei binah
January 29, 2012 12:16 pm at 12:16 pm in reply to: Why do ONLY seminary girls get to learn navi? #859014zeena.kastaMemberthey should be, but they cant possibly be expected to take on s much as she has. she would learn in to the early hours of the morning with no break. it takes lots of kochos. no one should ever put themselves under that much strain.
zeena.kastaMemberI worked as an administrator for an accounting firm. I found it very boring and time consuming, but if you like organising and basic math it is a great career.
zeena.kastaMemberplease answer the following questions about midreshet lindenbaum, darchei binah, michlalah and other intellectual seminaries, they are better criteria for choice:
1.What were you or other people at the seminary looking for in a seminary when deciding?
2.How important is the interview/How intense,etc.- reading of rashi?
3.What is the style of teaching? Discussion, lecture, classroom setting, chavrusa??
4.What type of classes are there?
5.Can you choose your classes?
6.How much work is there? Tests?
7.Is the seminary about getting as much done as possible or learning as much as possible out of each thing? Are tests and work a side factor and they really just want the girls to learn or is work a big factor of importance to the seminary?
8.How hard is it? How hard is hard?
10.The girls who go there is their focus on learning more textually or learning more and growing more spiritually?
12.Are they all about the outside or do they focus on the inside as well?

January 28, 2012 5:02 pm at 5:02 pm in reply to: Why do ONLY seminary girls get to learn navi? #859010zeena.kastaMemberGut Voch! Well it is still shabbos in the states, but not in Australia. My daughter won the national chidon hatanach, and she knows more torah, navi and ketuvim than my sons. but is that so terrible??? My sons are the experts when it comes to gemara, explaining the world. while my daughter is packed with the knowledge. men cant be the master of all.
zeena.kastaMemberofcourse…..but that doesn’t mean that we should not talk at all. we need to so that we are unified as a people
zeena.kastaMemberno, ofcourse seperation is needed. But complete seperation is naive
zeena.kastaMemberI am not saying the idea is wrong, in fact I completely agree. I find it inspirational. Atleast the part where yidden and goiim shouldnt mix too much.
But Jewish men and women, it is like we are one pack, rather than a variety of animals and we accomplish great things. We can be group of beavers and build a dam together. Or a pack of wolves that get food. Seperated and staggered we can acoomplish nothing.

zeena.kastaMemberMingling is important if limited ofcourse. Im not for Yidden sociallising with goiim. but the suggestion that men and women should be kept so seperate that they will cause catastrophes is they talk is inane!!!
zeena.kastaMembercomputer??
zeena.kastaMemberanyone know anything about darchei binah?
zeena.kastaMemberI get that the calamity was caused by the culmination of creatures, but this does not apply to humans, especially not yiddishkeit. In yiddishkeit of course socially it is not best to intermingle too much, but we have to. Men and women work together in marraige and accomplish great things. The diversity in the way men and women are is not meant to be kept seperate, rather unity is celebrated. Those creatures can express the wild nature, our nefesh habahamis and therefore when a group is out of control and rely on instincts they reek havoc.
zeena.kastaMemberNo, not really. My daughter’s friends are going to lubavitch seminaries, there arent a lot of Jewish schools where I live and I have to say it is a very good school, but not our hashgafa. Please answer these questions on Darchei Binah and other seminaries. That will be a major help :

zeena.kastaMemberThank you so much. It makes the decision so much easier, knowing that someone else on the other side of the world is looking in to darchei binah and is of similar hashgafa and background 🙂
zeena.kastaMemberI live in Australia. There aren’t enough people who would know anything. I need to get more opinions.

Another Regan, better than Obama who is of Muslim decent. Nostalgia makes him hate the Jews, at least Mitt has a little room in his heart to the Jewish people.
zeena.kastaMemberso what sort of sem is it if you were to define it? where would you send your children and why? what were your experiences?
zeena.kastaMemberwow this year is incredible. Pretty good for the Jews 😀

January 1, 2012 2:27 am at 2:27 am in reply to: Mental disorder misdiagnosis affecting friends, shidduchim and status. #976947zeena.kastaMemberShe had no friends becaue of the rumor that spead about her false diagnosis. Her symptoms were not serious, in fact once she moved to high school she presented no symptoms. Her school environment was the problem not her. In that school your friends were people that you were related to by family, not your classmates.
zeena.kastaMemberumm. in Australia that is year 11. Ok in what reference to Bohr’s experiment. perhaps you can explain electronic configeration or the shells. I dont know, you tell me.

December 30, 2011 4:10 am at 4:10 am in reply to: Mental disorder misdiagnosis affecting friends, shidduchim and status. #976938zeena.kastaMemberYes. But is it ok to diagnose children with few symptoms based on a out of environment test if the child may be going through a phase that will be gone by the time a child is a few years older? As this can affect social status and even shidduchim?
December 30, 2011 1:43 am at 1:43 am in reply to: Mental disorder misdiagnosis affecting friends, shidduchim and status. #976936zeena.kastaMemberA teacher sat in on a meeting and shared the information with her daughter and a rumor spread throughout her classmates. Who wants to be friends with someone with problems?
zeena.kastaMemberWhere did you apply??
