Ivana Trump is not Jewish, and anyone who says otherwise is 100% incorrect.
Wolf, you are motzi shem ra . If you are not a dayan you are paskening without a license. Anyone who says otherwise is 100% incorrect.
Some people take things too seriously and need to read the posts BEFORE commenting
zahavasdadParticipantMany of the Marriages in Israel performed abroad are not “Alternative Lifestyles” but rather “Intermarriages” but more like cases where one of the participants is Zera Yisroel and therefore not a halachic jew (Russians)
zahavasdadParticipantMuslims and christians get married religiously in Israel too. There is no civil marriage fro them either
zahavasdadParticipantIf there was civil Marriage, you could have civil Divorce and could actually according to many eliminate the Get problem
June 21, 2017 2:50 pm at 2:50 pm in reply to: Have you ever met a woman who doesn’t want to have her own children? #1301675zahavasdadParticipantNo I dont think so
A simple example, If someone is having emunah issues and thinks they dont believe. Many will not go to the Rosh Yeshiva and say that, but online they would tell the Rav.
Or if they commited an “Averiah” they might ask online about it, but would never tell the rav
zahavasdadParticipantMarek Edelman was a Bundist
June 21, 2017 2:09 pm at 2:09 pm in reply to: Have you ever met a woman who doesn’t want to have her own children? #1301647zahavasdadParticipantI heard a Posek who answers questions both in person and online and he said the online anonymous questions were of a very different nature than the in person ones. The questions he got online are the type he never go before as in person posek and he didnt think those people would ask these questions if there wasnt an anonymous online forum
People will ask the Rav in person if the pot is Kosher, but they much rarer ask the taboo question in person.
June 21, 2017 11:21 am at 11:21 am in reply to: Have you ever met a woman who doesn’t want to have her own children? #1301456zahavasdadParticipantPeople love to say how Chumras are great and dont see the back side of them. Some people do erase the lines between Halacha and Chumra and mess everything up and it is a bigger problem than some are willing to admit.
Telling you Rav EVERYTHING that is pertinent is very important
zahavasdadParticipantActually most jews in Warsaw were Bundist, meaning Socialist, Non-Zionistic wanting equal right in Poland
It was the Bund who was really behind the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, but other joined later

Its better to talk about taboo subjects in a torah place, than a non-torah place
Its not being lax, its being realistic . Would you rather the question be asked on an atheist Pro-femist , Population control website instead?
When people cant discuss the topics that concern them they will look for places that will discuss them
zahavasdadParticipantCTLawyer
Many jews who did not go to the Goldena Medina left the Shtel for the big cities as well. Places like Vienna and Warsaw became large jewish cities fairly quickly. Jews were not really even allowed in Vienna until about 1850, and it was almost 200,000 by 1939

Many people on various anonymous internet forums discuss taboo subjects that they would never discuss in real life. Things they feel strongly about , but cannot discuss because of social pressures.
While this forum is general debate about relgious topics, there was nothing IMO wrong with OP’s post just maybe a lit out of character compared to other posts
zahavasdadParticipantThe Budgest Passed
zahavasdadParticipantFor the record my family has been in this country since before WW I and my Wifes family as well.
A side note JTS and YU almost merged twice, The first time it was real close and Im not sure why it failed. At the time their Hasghfa was similar and JTS even threw out Mordechai Kaplan for his Philosophies
zahavasdadParticipantERSD
While I agree with you, they do not and to them the $13 a month is wasted money as they dont belive in Public education, Eventually what is going to happen is a state monitor is going to go in and force them to pay and remove any services the monitor feels is a luxury like segregated buses. There will be an outcry when this happens and cries of Anti-Semitism..But that is where this is leading
The state is unlikley to bail out the district , nor are any adjoining districts likely to merge as they dont want any part of this as those 2 solutions would also possibly work
zahavasdadParticipantERSD, they dont want to support public education thats why they vote no and will likley vote no on this vote, regarless of Joseph’s post
Not sure where you are coming from ERSD, but students in Yeshivas dont usually have band, Art, Music, Football etc so they think those things are “Luxuries” and they dont want to pay for them along with stuff like AP courses again they think its unnessasary
zahavasdadParticipantI doubt ERSD has one of the lowest tax rates in the country. Maybe in NY State, but not the US. there are plenty of places in the US where the schools taxes are real stingy
zahavasdadParticipantThe incident with the “Alternative Lifestyle female couple” occured while Einstein was part of YU. The couple sued YU for discrimination
zahavasdadParticipantThe laws of New York State apply the same in Monsey or Borough Park
zahavasdadParticipantThe “Alternate Lifestyle” club was not at YU, but rather at Einstein. Einstein and Cardozo are non-sectarian (As is YU) but many students there arent even jewish. They have to obey the New York Law.
If a yeshiva takes government money and a “Person who thinks they are a woman” wants to teach Gemorah at the yeshiva and the yeshiva says no, That person can sue under the anti-discrimation laws of NY and would likely win
There was a “Female Couple” where one of the was at Einstein and the partner wanted to live on campus , YU said, NO and the couple sued and won
zahavasdadParticipantState support of Public schools is a the law, State support of private schools is not. If you dont like the law then change it, but right now that is the current law
zahavasdadParticipantI believe East Ramapo is the only school district in the country, let alone the state that has more students in Private schools than public schools, so any change of the state formula would only benefit this one district and would be a bailout even if that wasnt the intention.
if he state would give yeshivas the money then they would have the right to dictate terms on what can be taught. Without the money they have alot less control of what is the curriculum
zahavasdadParticipantNew York State gives money to all school districts . The formula is based on taxpayers and public school students.
East Ramapo wants the formula changed as they say its unfair to the district because most students there go to private schools and not public schools, so thats how they want the state to bail them out.
zahavasdadParticipantIf you live in Williamsburg and you kids go to school in Borough Park, The city does not pay for school busing, It is more than 2 miles away
How come you are not talking about the safety of those students, and other than the b110 bus its not so easy to get from Williamsburg to Borough Park via Public transport , which is what NYC students do for the most part.
I know people who live in Far Rockaway and go to School in Brooklyn and the city does not pay busing, you are on your own.
June 20, 2017 8:08 am at 8:08 am in reply to: Have you ever met a woman who doesn’t want to have her own children? #1299788zahavasdadParticipantI actuallly knew such a person, She was not able to have children of her own natually (She was upfront about it) so I suspect it just became her way of accepting her situation
zahavasdadParticipantI think people who don’t live there shouldn’t tell people who do what they should do.
The people of East Ramapo want the State to bail them out. Therefore any votes in East Ramapo affect all New York State Taxpayers
June 19, 2017 2:49 pm at 2:49 pm in reply to: Rumor about Ivanka Trump Spurs conversation about Geirus #1299502zahavasdadParticipantThe pressures on a government official are not the same as on a Gadol.
It is unlikely any sort of lobbying or protesting could change an opinion of Rav Elyashiv., However government employees where Rav Goren was a part of are differnt. One can lobby, protest , Call Daily , threaten to vote out and are threfore subject to pressures that Gedolim are not.
zahavasdadParticipantThe per student costs of Special Ed Students per student in East Ramapo are some of the highest in the state
zahavasdadParticipantBecause Public School funding is the law, Private school funding is not (Except for indirect aid like textbooks, Busing)
That is why Public school gets the funding, If you choose not to use the Public school funding that is your choice, not the laws choice
zahavasdadParticipantIn the end East Ramapo wants the state to pay which is really unlikely to happen. That would require the rest of the state to agree and many others would also want the extra money for their own budget shortfalls. And especually if the Budget is rejected you are not going to get the money
Claiming you want Sunday busing for students who live 1 mile away from school, while cutting back Art and Music in the end just isnt going to fly with the rest of the state.
zahavasdadParticipantThere is no law that you have to hire teachers in any language other than english. Many districts will try to hire bi- or more lingual teachers. Spanish usually gets better treatment than other languages for the simple reason that there are plenty of spanish speakers in the schools and its not hard to find spanish speaking teahers. Other languages not as easy. Pashtun (from Afganistan) they cannot find teachers who speak that language (NYC was looking for such teachers)
If East Ramapo wanted to hire Yiddish speaking teachers because they felt they needed them, then let them do so. They would hire them as a need, not as a requirement. And it would be cheaper than sending them to Kiryat Joel.
And while the law does not care what religon you are , and saying that you dont want you children to sing songs about a fat man with in a red suit in december. Do you really think many non-jews would attend a special ed class in Monsey. You can put the classes there
zahavasdadParticipantActually the biggest waste was found to be in services for the disabled. It is mandated to provide services for these students, however it is not mandated to send them to a private school that charges more than the public school costs. Alot of these students were sent to the Kiryat Joel district when they could have been educated in Monsey
zahavasdadParticipantId put in a link that says taxes might still increase even with budgets turned down. it has happend many times already.
Amount of Required Physical Education: New York mandates at least 120 minutes of physical
education per week in grades K-6, but does not require daily recess. Students in grades K-3 must have
daily physical education, and students in grades 4-6 must have physical education at least three times per
week. The state also mandates at least 90 minutes per week of physical education in grades 7-12 and
requires all schools, including high schools, to provide physical education to all students. At the
secondary level, this must be provided at least three times per week in one semester and two times per
week in the other semester.June 18, 2017 10:50 am at 10:50 am in reply to: Rumor about Ivanka Trump Spurs conversation about Geirus #1298455zahavasdadParticipantI looked up the Seidman case as I had not heard of it before
It seems the woman had sued the government to have her reform conversion recognized and the Supreme Court was going to rule in her favor and the Labor government was going to pass a law accepting reform and conservative conversions. By doing this one conversion he stopped a much worse outcome. Unfortuantly sometimes you have to take bitter pills that can make you sick, in order to get better
June 18, 2017 10:12 am at 10:12 am in reply to: Rumor about Ivanka Trump Spurs conversation about Geirus #1298412zahavasdadParticipantThe Langer case involved Mamzerius which is one of the hardest things in the torah to defend , If not the hardest to a non or semi-religous population.
Ivanka Trump doesnt involve Mamzerius
Its one of those things I thankfully was not there at the time to have to make a decision. As stated in at least 2 cases above and others Ive heard about Sometimes there are outside pressures when it comes to Gerius,
One that I heard of involved a woman in Germany who was married to a Cohen. She was a little mentally unstable and they had a baby and it died. She then decided the reason the baby died was because she wasnt jewish and then demanded to be converted to Judaism. She petitioned the German government to be converted to Judaism and they put pressure on the Rabbis of Germany to convert her. It was not a Shalia Id want to be asked. A mentally unstable person who lost a baby already married to a Cohen. Thankfully I wasnt asked
zahavasdadParticipantIf the Budget is voted down, it does not mean they are going to make a new budget with the desired results. They will more likely run an austerity budget which will make cuts and many people wont like.
There might also STILL be a tax increase, even with the budget being voted down as some things have to be paid for no matter what, like electric bills , heating bills , negotiated teacher salaries etc.
and just an fyi Gym , Art and Music are mandated by the state. Just because many yeshiva kids dont have some of these things , doesnt mean its not mandated or important

Many in the charedi communities do not accept the psak of Rav Goren in the langer case. rav Elyshiv was 100% against it

Superman really was a jew. The creators of Superman (Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster) WERE jewish and did give him many jewish qualities.
And dont forget Superman comes from the 1930’s the creators of Superman in those days had many stories related to them fighting fascism
June 14, 2017 1:51 pm at 1:51 pm in reply to: Liberal assassination attempt of Republican Congressmen after liberal violence #1296471zahavasdadParticipantA conservative shot gabrielle Giffords.
There are insane people on all sides
zahavasdadParticipantYou cannot price manipulate on eBay , you can KEYWORD manipulate
June 14, 2017 10:39 am at 10:39 am in reply to: Rumor about Ivanka Trump Spurs conversation about Geirus #1296299zahavasdadParticipantAnti-Semties do not follow halacha in the sense that they dont care of someone’s mother or father is jewish. Someone who has a jewish father is still a jew to them
zahavasdadParticipantIt has nothing to do with the price, Its other factors including the reputation of the seller and how many items the listing sold
eBay does not disclose how Cassini (Best Match) works, but there are some hints out there
zahavasdadParticipanteBay does not do search results by price, they use a system called “best match” or Cassini. Its not so easy to manipulate the search results

It was boycotted by one of them. How are us such little people supposed to know which one of them is the Gadol and which one is the Apikoras?
