I once knew a Satmar from the Alter Heim. He told me a story how he once met a woman when he was younger who was bragging how none of her family had gone to either the United States or Israel

There are 2 Satmar’s Rebbe’s. They are brothers

Neither of whom lives in France, One lives in Williamsburg and the other in Kiryat Joel. Their attitude to each other is well known

When the government gives out money, they have the right to dictate under what circumstances the money is doled, If you dont like those conditions, you can try to change them, but you have no right to the money as is under the present conditions

Joseph , its ALOT more than 1 in 1,000 and I am surprised at you, You clamored for Special Services for Frum students, and now you claim only 1 in 1,000 need it. Most of the students who need special serivces do not go to a regular yeshiva

Catholism is a hirearchcal religion meaning everyone answers to the Vatican and the pope, you cannot be against the pope and be a good catholic

Judaism isnt like that, Misnagim and Chassidim would never occur in Catholism, If there is a schism, they start another religion like the Protestants

Yeshivas kick out students all the time, although in many cases its called “They are asked not to come back”, which is a nice way of saying get lost, we dont want you.

We are talking about students with behavioral issues or just some with learning issues. While things like Dyslexia are now more known and some yeshivas can handle it, sadly many cannot or will not.

Go to a NYC public school near a jewish area and see how many frum kids are in the special ed classes

You cannot compare Yeshivas to Public schools for the simple reason, Yeshivas can kick out low performing students and thereby increase the regents pass rate, Public schools by law are required to teach everyone including low performing students

We are allowed to have morals greater than the torah, we cannot have morals less than the torah

There are things that the torah allows , that people today consider immoral like Slavery. I dont think anyone except for maybe Joseph thinks that Slavery is moral even though the torah permits it

Remember if yeshivas get vouchers, Madrassas’s will get them too and other religious schools as well

And if vouchers do become legal, they will not pay for Limude Kodesh, but would pay for secular education and the state would have the right to dictate what secular education is taught

If someone gives you $100,000 as a gift, you most certainly have to pay income tax on it

If fact most famously Donald Trump almost went bankrupt, He needed a bailout, and his father Fred Trump had the money. He could not give it to him, so Fred Trump went into one of the casinos and bought $2 million dollars worth of chips to bail out Donald, and he never cashed them in . which is legal

In the Alter Heim, Chassidim did not always get civilly married. It definatly was the case.

There are not tens of thousands of people learning in Kollel in Lakewood

The Population of Lakewood is 100,000 people. Frum jews make up about 50-60% . So if we say 60% are frum jews. Half of them are women meaning 30,000 men and 30,000 women. Many of these are children and some people in Lakewood do work. so the real number of people in Kollel in Lakewood is closer to 10,000

Gifts over a certain amount ARE taxable, I think the amount is $13,000

However that can easily be strteched. Each Parent can give one child $13,000 for a total of $26,000 and the Parent can give the In-Law child also $13,000 x 2 for basically a total of $52,000

Also the parents can give the grandchildren money as well

Also money given to other sources like Yeshiva tution doesnt count, It has to be direct cash.

However some things are non cash income like if a Yeshiva gives a tuition discount in Lie of income, that can be taxable under certain circumstances

There is a famous football player who now plays for the Mets baseball organization.

He is a real hard core christian and his parents were christian missionaries, While they were on mission in some 3rd world country his mother was pregnent with him and got some disease, the doctors told her to abort and of course this son survived and became a sports star. Harecore pro-lifers use this example to ban all cases even in cases of danger to the mother

In life there are crossroads where we are unsure where to go.

Up until now you went to School and then went to seminary. Now that seminary is over, you are at a “What now”

You delimna has little to do with Hashghfa or anything like that, but rather where do I go next. Once you figure that out, things will work out. You do not have to decide at this time what you want to do for the rest of your life, you are still young.

Your life is no longer planned for you, you have to begin trying to investigate that for yourself

In a Tenent landlord situation, there is a lease, and both sides are obligated to follow the lease. The leases are usually pretty standard.

If the lease allowed the landlord to do certain required work on Saturday , then the leasee is required to obey those lease terms

Raw Fish isnt a problem to eat, Raw SEAFOOD (Lobsters, Oysters, Crabs) are a problem to eat.

Most Sushi is usually contains these items, as Lobsters, Crabs, Oysters are bottom dwellers and eat garbage. However those animals are not kosher, so its not part of this discussion here. We are talking about Kosher Sushi, not treif Sushi

You can eat whatever you want, The point was these “Flyers” who claim their house is holy because its Sushi Free , or those that claim Gefilte is better than Sushi

There an idea called Comfort foods or tradition, Many people like to eat stuff they remember eating as a kid. For some it could be Gefilte, for others it could be Pizza. If you like eating such foods, good. You should eat them, Just dont claim you are holier because you do or there is something less holy about foods that arent traditional

Why would anyone care for sushi when we have our own delicious fish traditions such as gefilte fish?

Gefilte Fish is gross thats why and besides, You really think “Hemish Cooking” is so original? Kugel is just another name for Pudding. Kishka is just a jewish version of Polish Sausages

If you dont like Sushi, that is fine . More for me. but the bigger point is , Eat what you like, not because of some “tradition”

And Yes my Bubie did know how to cook traditional foods, but that doesnt mean she didnt eat more american stuff too. She liked them too
